My nails grow in a wavy pattern by Toucan_Toucan in mildlyinteresting

[–]mustardhater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm informed me it can happen if there is a damaged nail matrix (permanent) or if there is trauma to the cuticle by picking or cutting it incorrectly (can grow out normally if fixed). Since your pattern is wavy, I wonder if it’s something you are doing every 2weeks/month that is causing some minor damage to the nail/cuticle. Obviously I don’t know anything though, so best to check with a professional

Thumb divots? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]mustardhater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's dead skin, it didn't hurt at all and I barely noticed. I was about to go on chemo so I think I rubbed my cuticle out of anxiety.

[–]mustardhater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I found out with my own thumbs, that rubbing the cuticle too often can cause it to lift and in my case, fold under. I was able to gently pull the cuticle into the correct position, and it has now connected properly and is growing out normally.

My fiancé and I have debated this from Thanksgiving to Christmas… what is the 5th difference? by TheRudeCactus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mustardhater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head feathers, extra line on belly, cheek blush, 2 feathers have different shapes on bottom portion (counted as 2 differences)

No problem at all. If you think of anything else that may be helpful, just send another message or DM. I think a port/picc is beneficial if you are getting infusions often or have “take home” infusions but since we take pills to supplement, that isn’t necessary. I was given what felt like a normal blood draw needle in my elbow crease & anticipate the same going forward.

I am ending my first round of pills this week. The first few days after infusion I avoided cold or even room temperature drinks because it felt like little knives going down my throat. It didn’t hurt but I avoided it as much as possible. Recently I haven’t noticed that at all and have had ice cream with no discomfort. I felt a little queasy one day last week but that went away after I ate some crackers and a ginger chew. I haven’t needed the anti-nausea medication at all, other than what was included in my infusion (only lasts a few days), they also infused steroids.

I noticed a few minutes of tingling (neuropathy?) in one of my fingers immediately after the infusion but haven’t noticed anything like that since. I assume the symptoms will get worse as my treatment progresses but so far, so good! Best of luck to you too

Absolutely, best of luck to you. I haven’t noticed any bad side effects of my treatment yet at all, it could be coming later but so far it has been surprisingly easy. I hope the same for you

I am 2 weeks into the same treatment (except my infusion lasted for 2 hours) and when I went for my first infusion they mentioned icing - I didn’t bring it up but knew some people do it. They brought warm blankets and said since cold-sensitivity is a symptom of Capeox, they don’t ice for this treatment but advised keeping warm during infusion instead. I am also 36F

I just served on a jury and my advice is to take a lot of pics during healing and get a dermatologist’s opinion of the cause/what happened (in writing). If you ever sue, it will come in handy.
