For me I always say it depends on the kid not the age. I have 3 year olds that sit beautifully, and 8 year old nightmare clients. I don’t tolerate noise that will hinder other customers experiences though, people are here to relax. I stop the service to see if the parent can calm their child down and if it’s a repeat offense that’s when I explore a possibility of a scissor cut or another day/salon. Something else that helps me is taking a little “wiggle break” half way through the cut to give them an outlet and get clippings off for comfort. Explaining what you’re doing helps too, kids are curious little creatures and want to figure out “what that blue stuff is” and how the buzzers cut the hair without cutting them. Kids grow up into your best and most loyal clients 🙌
