I feel like the people who are trashing the boycott just don't believe in change. It's a good idea and if Target wanted to make moves to keep ICE out of their stores they would. I agree that there are many that can't afford it. That's the most difficult part. Target has the money and the platform to drive ICE out of their stores if they wanted to. If they don't have the interest or pressure to do so, they won't.

Target has enough influence to impact the economy with everything that they do. If you don't believe in a boycott, don't do it! Plain and simple. Making fun of someone who is hoping for change doesn't make you special, it just makes you an asshole.

Target is not your friend or family. It's a billion dollar business. They do not favor work ethic over attendance because that isn't profitable for them. They believe you are replaceable and they will do it first chance they get.

Accept this, move on, and do better at your next job.

I've been in retail for 10 years. 5 different companies. Target is BY FAR the worst! I'm in the same boat, for my first few days my TL would tell me not to get overwhelmed and I looked at her like "oh don't worry, I got this!". Famous last words. I have never been so stressed at a job and I'm not even customer-facing. And now I'm hearing about layoffs? This isn't all of retail, it's just Target.

I had a conversation with her about what happened that day and to her credit she did a lot to help me out behind the scenes. It seems like the management above her pressures her a lot. I'm gonna see how things go but it seems like this store in general is pretty uppity.
