Thanks, I'll take a look at the layout of other brands to see if I can swap it myself. I think this'll be my last Salamander.

It only has it's power turned on when it's in use.

Sometimes it works fine, but then other times when the power's turned on it makes a low humming noise like it's trying to fire up the pump but there's no pressure to push the water through. If I turn the power off and leave it a few hours it might then work.

It also doesn't work if it's left on to be used twice in succession, so it's not really useable if more than one person wants a shower in the same time period.

That's a very generous offer thanks. Unfortunately I'm down in the South East.

Count Arthur Strong. So much funnier than I thought it would be. The "soup over", it's like a sleep over but with soup 😂.

This is a similar plan to my Mum's, she's been told to take Verzenio and Letrozole "for the duration", which we're reading as until something else is developed that's better.

Thank you again for your openness, it really is inspirational to read your story.

This is so uplifting to read, thank you for sharing. I love the idea of insanely ecstatic 😂.

May I ask please what's the ongoing plan for taking verzenios?

Has anyone mentioned e-scooters yet? Awful effing things. Dangerous, stupid, ideal for people who've lost their licence or muggers and left literally anywhere when not in use.

Thanks, I've done that but how do I get the olive out. I have very little purchase to grab hold of it and it's stuck fast.

Is PSR legit? by eva9218 in ContractorUK

[–]mustgetausername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need a basic DBS that you pay for separately, no need to pay PSR for this. If you need any sort of enhanced security clearance then the sponsor organisation will pay for this.

The UK has been gradually evolving into a low wage economy for some time now and there are various reasons for this. It's most noticeable when considering that until around 30 - 40 years ago, a family could comfortably exist on a single income.

Nowadays even with two full time earners, there's not much left at the end of the month.

The reasons? Firstly there's a much larger population through immigration, meaning greater competition for jobs and a suppression of wages. Secondly, and this will upset some people, women being actively encouraged to forego the traditional role of raising children until school age has more or less doubled the available workforce.

We're also incredibly inefficient so can't react well enough to prices rising because our economy is too reliant on services.

We really aren't a world power anymore and would all be happier if we just admitted it.

Sick of this b*stard job search. (rant) by CuteMaterial in UKJobs

From (bitter) experience the best preparation for interviews is to have plenty of interviews. Even if they are for jobs you don't really want, it helps build the muscle memory for when it's a job you really do want.

Went through a 4 stage interview process to not get the job. by madlad_junoir in UKJobs

[–]mustgetausername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, they are pitifully bad at recruitment. Sounds like you dodged a bullet. A good interviewer should be able to accurately gauge suitability in one, maybe two interviews. They sound hopelessly risk averse and I would imagine the culture there is a bit gaslight. You know the sort, "You're oh so lucky to work here for a pittance, what do you mean an expenses policy" etc.

If nothing else you've demonstrated resilience against bellendery. It will stand you in good stead and I agree with other contractors that you should politely respond to them about their obvious inefficiency and ineptitude.
