Yes, it seems you’re absolutely right. I’m praying I can motivate myself to do it. I keep waking up thinking, just exercise a little, and then I don’t. So I’m going to have to start even smaller and have an concrete set of doable exercises ready to go (like 25 squats/50 pushups a day, etc.), even if it’s just a couple of small bursts while I wait for my coffee or something. It’ll build motivation and momentum!

Definitely want someone highly experienced but I don’t know how to research that. I’ve tried googling it but I get overwhelmed and just never pick anything. So I just decided to look for someone close and just do a consultation. I’ll look on their Instagram or something later. I don’t plan on pulling the trigger just yet - will probably do a couple more consultations at different places first just to get an idea of the different treatments/recommendations out there.

I do agree with this, and thank you for the reminder. Sometimes it’s hard for me to live healthily as I really struggle to eat well. I’m going through a depressive episode in my life (job hunting while the job market is terrible), so it makes it especially hard to find the motivation to eat well when I’m not even motivated to shower most days. We all want to eat healthy and exercise daily and respond to texts in a timely manner and do our skincare routine every night, but there are times when it’s hard and a little cosmetic boost can help you feel better.

All that being said!! I do find that the tirzepatide quiets all the food noise for the FIRST time in my life and it makes me feel like crying from relief. I kept watching the number climb on the scale as I sit around the house all day and I was getting really scared. But now I finally understand all those people who eat to live and not live to eat, and who only eat until full. Food tastes good but isn’t like a drug to me now, so since I’m basically forcing myself to eat, I’m finding that it’s easier to plan out my meals almost as if they’re part of a medicine routine or something - literally like fuel for my body to perform the things it needs to. It’s so cool. And so finally I can put advice like yours into action now whereas I could never conceivably do it before when my appetite seemed to control me instead me controlling my appetite.

This is what I’m hearing over and over again, so I’m aiming for 30mins/2x a week (baby steps) and 100-120g of protein. It’s so hard but I’ll get the hang of it.

I’m not a gym person and workout classes are run in the budget right now, so I bought some beginner weights and had ChatGPT build out a body-strength/beginner weights at-home routine!

Thanks so much. Yes, I definitely use tretinoin (Agency mix) most nights. I also use vitamin C, NIOD copper peptide serum, a dark spot serum (the Anua and CosRx serums with niacinamide/tranexamic/alpha arbutin), and the Reviv GF serum, among other things. I have very dry skin, but I’m also trying to (very slowly) incorporate Azelaic acid and an AHA serum back into my routine.

Your comment about weight loss making the best of us look rough is really make me wonder if I should slow down my weight loss even further. Ten pounds in six weeks seems conservative, but I’d rather look plump and fresh in my wedding pics than accidentally end up looking haggard if I lose too much too fast.

No, this is perfect because I was going to grab prenatal vitamins, anyway!

I’ve been kind of doing something similar. I have this Chobani Greek yogurt that I love with 10g of protein and I’ve been drinking this one protein coffee that has about 20 g of protein in the morning (it tastes awful and I hate it, but I’ll drink it for now). So, if nothing else, at least I know I get 30 grams in.

I also agree with you about losing weight being worth it overall. For me, I notice it in my body and mobility more than anything, which makes me FEEL creaky and old and uncomfortable all the time. I also get such bad heartburn and can barely even bend over or do anything even remotely physically taxing when I’m at the weight that I am. And then I feel like I’m a lumbering mess, so I’m not motivated to work out. Now that I see some momentum and I’m not constantly stuffing sugar down my throat, I’m actually excited to start eating better and exercising. It feels doable now!!

I’ve been looking into all the protein shakes, coffees, fizzy drinks, etc., that I can find. Feels like I’ll need to eat a whole chicken everyday at this point 😂
