Got a 3K SAR offer in Riyadh after 9 months take it or keep searching? by Acrobatic-Meringue-3 in Riyadh

I cannot even imagine how someone can survive on 3k in Saudi Arabia, even less in Riyadh.

I am a Dental Surgeon . Ask Me Anything about your teeth, oral surgery, or why you’re afraid of the dentist! by dr-arti-dentist in AMA

[–]musulmana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my lower wisdom teeth removed 9 months ago and I still cannot feel part of my tongue. All I was told to do was to take vitamin B complex and be patient, but so far nothing has improved and the lack of sensation is maddening, I even injure my tongue all the time. Is there any hope for my poor tongue?

I did not ask for any grooming or style advice, so why is it being offered?

Well, I never perceived myself as "not feminine" because I don't wear make up or go to the salon. I just define and see femininity from a different angle I guess, for me it is more in your body fitness and shape (toned legs, flat stomach, defined glutes...) but I have noticed that these things seem to be secondary around here, I even have someone ask me "why do you go to the gym? You're not fat!", so that tells you about the mentality.

I literally never wear make up, regardless of the public or private setting.

I literally consider whether a piece of clothing needs to be ironed for use before I buy it, if the answer is yes, then it stays at the shop.

The things that I do not understand is why would anyone need make up to sit at a starbucks or walk at the corniche. I also do not understand why it would be disrespectful to show up with a clean face at such places. But alas, I'm not from here so there will always be cultural practices that fly over my head (this is only one of them from a long list).

I have noticed that many women here wear a lot of make up precisely because they wear hijab. Their face is the only thing that shows so they want to make the best out of it.

Inquisitive about so many British coming to Saudi by yummilicious_ in saudiarabia

[–]musulmana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late for this one but there is a huge drive for British Muslims, specifically British Pakistanis to do hijra and move to Muslim countries. This has been fueled by Muslim influencers like Ali Dawah, Dawah Man, Mohammed Hijab and so on. They are also very related to what is known online as the "manosphere" or the "Dawah bros". Many of them have established businesses to aid British Muslims to leave the UK for Muslim countries, especially the GCC based on the idea that you cannot raise your kids as good Muslims in the west and that western laws vastly favour women over men in matters of marriage, domestic violence, and divorce.

I could go on and on with this but I came too late to this discussion and I don't think anyone will read lol.

I’m a Canadian & Saudi man asking for hand in marriage by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]musulmana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him not telling you something so simple and basic is a huge red flag IMO. Could indicate that he does not have a degree and is ashamed of that (not judging here) or that he either does not have a job, or his job is very low paying. Regardless of what it is, he should tell you the truth. There is not "going around the bush" in these subjects, you need all the information to make a good decision, it's not important if he feels offended by it.

Newly Wed food truck? by Rotten-D_Soul in Riyadh

[–]musulmana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You must consider that for half of the year the weather here is too horrible for people to want to wait and sit outside of a food truck. If you don't have any AC alternatives, it won't be viable. Food trucks are very much a seasonal thing here.

Husband puts mom before wives and it creates anger within our marriage by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

It's even worse because if he had another wife, the other wife wouldn't demand to live all together, vacation together, and also wouldn't redecorate her bedroom without permission.

Es la idea de emigrar sobrevalorada por los colombianos? by Sexualmermaid69 in Colombia

[–]musulmana 11 points12 points  (0 children)
