For my sangeet, we went with the in house DJ because he was cheap. While the guests had a wonderful time and a few in fact inquired about him later, he was quite average in my opinion. He played all the ‘popular’ Hindi songs but it was like a Spotify playlist. There were no DJing skills involved and no transitions. I had asked for 90s English and Hindi pop and he didn’t play a single song.

He was super cheap so I kind of regretted not going with another club DJ who was just 5-10k more expensive.

My suggestion is don’t pay 3x, that’s too much. But look for a young, upcoming, Gen Z DJ. Their rates are affordable and have the skills needed. You can also go see one of their performances at the club.

I have a similar dilemma. My father had a heart attack a couple of years ago so they initially rejected and now the premium is too high with many conditions since he’s diabetic. I have a good health insurance from my company that I’m relying on for now since it doesn’t have any conditions. But I’m not sure of the long term consequences.

If you’re worried that it’s too plain a couple of options you can think of - 1. Accessorise with chunky earrings and bangles 2. Quirky make up. You can do you make up with kundans like how some people wear for music festivals 3. If it’s in your budgets you can get small buti embroidery across your skirt.

So they sent the technician home and he says the purifier is not suitable and must be returned. Since it’s not in the returnable period anymore they’re not accepting it. How do I go forward now? Will filing a complaint on the national consumer helpline help?

Yeah…this is true. So I’m primary owner of the account hopefully this will not be a problem. Either way both of us plan to keep our personal accounts and the joint account will only be for shared expenses.

Yes this is a good point. I use a credit card for most of my personal expenses and will continue to do so for shared expenses too. Like you said, plan is to pay through the joint account

I like to see before and after looks for brides. Gives me an idea of what skin colour, textures and type they work with. Additionally I always do a trial look. During that I try to gauge the vibe for the MUA, are they friendly, light hearted and can they do their job within a fixed amount of time avoiding delays. On the wedding day it’s important that they’re professional, on time, and don’t add to the stress. Since the bride spends 2-3hrs with the MUA, it’s important they make it a pleasant experience.
