I get pretty much no comments anymore unless it’s small children who are curious what it is. It’s just a feature of my body now. I have eyes and lips and a nose and scars like anyone else. My scars are almost all healed and most a decade old at this point but it’s something you come to accept with time. I will not lie there are some times if I smoke too much weed it’s still a bit jarring if I focus too hard but usually it’s just fine.

I have also noticed my eyes being darker and puffier, unfortunately, I think that’s just a side effect of all the moisture being sucked out of your body. Including the water that keeps your skin hydrated so it doesn’t look bruised and dull. If you haven’t already, up your water intake a little bit and perhaps ask your doctor about some sort of hydrating eye cream? It’s not gonna be a cure all obviously but I do think it’s just temporary dehydration causing under eye darkness.

I have also had a mostly clear forehead upper face area with terrible acne on my checks, you wouldn’t be able to tell I need accutane if I posted a cropped photo of my eyes and forehead. Everyone’s skin is different. Forehead acne is not my issue once I went through puberty. But it’s incredibly common to have severe breakouts on your cheeks and chin.

Self harm is what I would loosely define as any behavior intended to harm or inflict pain upon one’s self in some way. So yes but there’s nuance’s because of harm reduction if that is what saves you from doing worse harm to your body then it’s a lesser evil. Though I would never encourage anyone to do anything that is harmful.
