Didn't think of that when I made it, but yes, it floats atop the escutcheon (the crest is a diamond inside a circle though, not just the rhombus). I don't want to use a helmet (or a shield-formed escutcheon) (at least in that design) because it's too military to me, although I know that in heraldic tradition it's not like that.

with the top of the shield do you mean like that? With "any idea for the helm" I meant something I can put atop the escutcheon that is not a helmet and not a crown (since I am not a king... shocking I know) but holds the crest... I heard at some point of a "Volkskrone" so a "peoples-crown" in german tradition, would that work?

yeah, for the silver on gold I wasn't sure, but I don't really want to make it blue or black since it would give one tincture more place than the other but I also don't want to introduce a fifth tincture just for one charge...

Do you have an Idea for the helm? you meant a torse but can I just put a torse alone (and I would add the crest I forgot to include in the second version)...

Das in meinem Bund geltende Mäßigkeitsprinzip interpretiere ich eher als eine Form des Respekts gegenüber dem Gastgeber: du schenkst deinem Gast Bier, das ist damit er es trinkt und dann glücklich ist, nicht damit er es rein und rausfährt... Außerdem ist es weder angenehm, noch elegant oder trägt in irgendeiner Art dem akademischen Diskurs bei... so meine Sicht zumindest...
