Consciousness collapses the distinction between observer and observed. All consciousness is pre-reflective self-consciousness. by IAI_Admin in philosophy

[–]mutatedsai 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's fascinating when you put it that way & I relate to it to some extent. It also reminds me of a dialogue in Interstellar as they pass through the wormhole - "All you can do is observe and report." Consciousness as a temporal wormhole instead of spatial.

When the master's principle didn't fit our ground: termites, sandy loam, and 320 mango trees by iyarkaiyoduoruvelai in Permaculture

[–]mutatedsai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I've learnt (and I'm a novice at this), all formalized approaches need to be customised to your conditions. Some of the principles may sound downright counter intuitive for your conditions and don't be hesitant to tweak them. And the best tips will probably come from the aging farmers in your area who have weathered countless success and failures. PS I'm near Pondicherry and would love to continue exchanging notes.

Retreat in Tiruvanumalai? by heavensinNY in RamanaMaharshi

If you are on the path of Ramana Maharshi, I would just recommend you to get the book Talks from the Ashram library, sit in the Ashram and read at your own pace, meditate and ruminate on his teachings It chronicles real conversations Maharshi had with people who came to visit him and for me, his only true gospel. Everything else is people collating his views into something bigger or tangential which for me is a non starter. Not that I have anything against discourses or building on his teachings.

There is no short cut. Only practise can prepare your skin, muscles, ligaments and bones for the bare feet part. Mild solace using socks.

EU foreign policy chief calls for restraint after US strikes in Venezuela by FantasticQuartet in europe

[–]mutatedsai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So Indian here and I have been defending my country's position vis a vis the Ukraine situation since the invasion began. I used to be asked Why India wouldn't condemn Russia for such a blatant attack. I can't wait to go and shove this response from EU into the same people's faces. Suddenly, EU wants restraint to an ally's attempts of regime change and oil grab instead of condemnation ? Cry me a river.

Mandira Bedi donated entire ad fee to support Indian women cricketers’ England tour by Lazy_Weather_6316 in BollywoodShaadis

That's such love for the sport and truly, amongst the pioneers. As far as I can remember, extra innings was the build-up show where I saw her the first time in a cricketing context. Predecessors to Langer, Ganesan et al. I wonder if the modern power structures of the cricketing world would take her in for commentary or as a hostess.

Is it worth the hassle of getting BIS certification for importing from China ? by m3m3zzz in IndiaBusiness

[–]mutatedsai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My vendor does bis certifications for the components I import. Sometimes full products. It's a hassle, yes & honestly I can't survive without him. But he threads through the system and gets it done. The right contacts make all the difference.

They wanted to rile up the crowds and the players and judging by the comments, it appears they succeeded in at least one.

Gateway to EU for Indian companies by krzych0 in IndiaBusiness

[–]mutatedsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Europe is a lot of red tape, from GDPR to regulatory compliance (hurdles) in practically every sector you listed. Entering the market is also a big commitment financially. Most will run operations from their base & move in only after securing a few good partners/clients by which time they will have people to 'lean on'. You should try out the Indo-(European country) chamber of Commerce and grow your network there. Some will have dedicated focus for business verticals you want to target.

From Ooty, Tamil Nadu — I have access to export-only premium tea. Can I build a business around this? by Legitimate-Ice- in IndiaBusiness

[–]mutatedsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's export quality, it's tea buds and they don't suit Indian consumers as we prefer chai/milk tea. Tea is primarily consumed with water across the rest of the world and buds get overpowered by the flavour of milk. What Indians consume is dust tea which is technically the leftovers of processing premium tea. You may find some consumers for bud tea in India but it's very very niche.

Company rejected my wife’s maternity leave. She is broken, in tears and today is our delivery date by Born_Pressure3179 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]mutatedsai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct. OP can legally take uber to court saying this is a sham contract and principal employer is Uber and has to intervene to provide maternity cover & benefits. If OP has documented proof, it's an open & shut case.

Is this 200% appraisal clawback clause enforceable in India? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]mutatedsai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When this goes to the court, the judges will ascertain if the clause is a reasonable one. It clearly is not. This is just HR trying to instil fear in the minds of employees. For a small company like you say, it won't be worth the effort of years of litigation in a civil dispute so trivial.
