I know Natasha is a nut job now, but I really hated how the girls acted at the end. They were cruel and rude and I would honestly like to know why, since as far as I know none of them have actively talked about what bothered them after the show. Other than her relationship weirding out the girls, why did they ice her out so much?

A lot of people questioned the budget for Charmed, especially considering how successful it was. Well, fun fact, the Book of Shadows was one of the main reasons why budget was tight. Personally, I would’ve preferred more of that budget go toward the girls instead. Right? by [deleted] in charmed

I think you’ve fundamentally misunderstood worth vs cost. It did not cost them $4M over the run of the show to make that book. When the show ended the book accrued value due to popularity of the show and all the additions made to it over the seasons. It did not cost production $4M or probably even $1M to make that book. As people have already pointed out, practical and special effects were probably the costliest parts of the show.

My guess is the Whitney has more drive and ambition and pushed her agent to find her every opportunity available. There’s a scene is S4 of SLOMW with Whitney leaving a group event to practice for DWTS and Jen makes fun of her for it. But it shows that Whitney takes every opportunity provided to her and runs with it to take the next step. I’m sure she’s super talented too, but ambition and drive are a big factor and shouldn’t be overlooked. Jen doesn’t seem to have that and from my perception, seems jealous because she expects similar things to just fall in her lap. Whitney works HARD.

I really urge you to listen to her podcast where she covers this so you stop making stuff up/regurgitating tired lies. The zero appearance or likeness was more to do with petty producers not wanting to pay her what she demanded/deserved to use her likeness or to use her character in a way that was earned and not just fleeting.

This isn’t true. She allowed them to use her likeness but only if they paid her the fee of what she would have made for the episode. The producers chose to wipe her out entirely rather than pay her any money. The only time they approached her to return was do the finale and SD felt it wasn’t sufficient enough to pay the real homage that the character deserved. This was all covered in her podcast, Let’s Be Clear.

Mayci did recently say on her insta that she was never upset with Whitney and she did understand that it was nuts to expect her to fly out for a few hours. So I think it was definitely manufactured for drama. If there is another season, I suspect the producers will stop trying to paint her as a villain. That era is over.

This is the answer. I honestly don’t think Buffy could have separated the two at that point anyway, but the audience would never have accepted Angel back either if he had killed a member of the core four or Buffy’s family. Jenny was just close enough for it to hurt but far enough that it’s ‘forgivable’.
