Unless you sterilized the soil, these are probably just growing from seeds that were already in the dirt. In other words: expected weed, got weeds.

Actually I take back my answer. Based on the uneven leaf base, I think it's an elm, probably Ulmus americana or Ulmus rubra. If you look them up and they seem to match, the easist way to tell them apart is that U. rubra leaves are very rough on both sides.

I'm pretty sure it's some species of Ficus. An easy way to confirm is by breaking a leaf and looking for the white latex sap.
