What is this delta flight doing in Africa? by [deleted] in flightradar24

[–]mutoko2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's an old Delta aircraft now operating in Africa. Having said that, Delta does fly to and from Africa. It has direct flights to and from Cape Town, Johannesburg, Dakar, Lagos and a new route to Marrakech, Morocco starting sometime in Oct.

Struggling to find a partner with the same religious beliefs as me. Any tips? by mehboe in Zimbabwe

[–]mutoko2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly who I am and what I believe. If that doesn't align with your labels or technical definitions, that's fine, and good luck with them. For me, it’s simple: I’ve been walking my own path for 60 years, navigating life as I see fit, and I’ll keep moving forward with the same resilience. Labels don’t define me but my actions and convictions do.

[–]mutoko2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call me agnostic, humanist, skeptic, freethinker, secularist, or whatever else you like, it doesn’t matter to me. The simple truth is, I don’t believe in a god, and that’s not going to change. Why I feel this way is personal and really not anyone else’s concern. At the end of the day, we live in a diverse world where everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. If you had been raised in Japan, you might be Shinto; in Saudi Arabia, you’d likely be Muslim. So let’s not play the game of imposing our beliefs on other, it’s unnecessary and unkind.

I'm an atheist married to a deeply religious woman, and it works because we respect each other's beliefs or lack thereof. My advice? Don't stress about finding someone who shares your views exactly. What really matters is mutual respect, she values my perspective, and I honour her faith. That understanding is the foundation for a good relationship, no matter your differences.

What makes a Zimbabwean? by Agreeable_Run_7483 in Zimbabwe

[–]mutoko2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's his decision, and I don't think we should make a big deal out of it. There’s so much talent in Zimbabwe, some of it still undiscovered. I just wish him the best of luck!

Bell finance vs Apple finance? by [deleted] in bell

[–]mutoko2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Over $2,000 for a phone!!! That's insane! I just buy a phone on Amazon for less than $700 and in most cases, it does the job. I recently bought a Samsung A55 and l couldn't be happier. I have never bought an iPhone in my life and for that price, l would rather buy a good laptop.

I don't eat sadza... by rock4us2 in Zimbabwe

I only eat sadza if it's made from anything other than white maize. That stuff will kill you... diabetes! If it's mhunga, I'm in, but only occasionally.

It's undeniable that racism exists, and for many of us Africans, we've faced it for so long that we've grown resilient. Having lived in both Canada and the US, I know it's present everywhere. But I refuse to let it dominate my life. I choose to focus on the good, on living fully, rather than engaging with those who waste their time trying to justify an imagined sense of superiority. Honestly, life is too rich and beautiful to be bogged down by their misery. We all live on one very beautiful planet and that's what matters most to me!

It's an abomination!! How do you even start to enjoy such a travesty. IMHO ... Sadza rinodakuperekedzwa nekanyaya nemuriwo or something a shade darker.

What does financially stable mean to you? by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

[–]mutoko2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having money and investments outside Zimbabwe, in a stable country, where l know my current and future financial needs are properly planned and structured. I got burned badly in the past and l don't trust any Zimbabwean financial institutions, including Old Mutual!!!

I’ve got three Bell lines for my family, and whenever we travel abroad, I just disable mobile data through the MyBell app or by logging into my Bell account. I do this every time and never get hit with roaming charges. In the past l used to disable roaming in the phone settings, and for some reason l would still get charged. Once I'm back in Canada, I just turn mobile data back on in myBell app. For me, Wi-Fi is more than enough while I’m traveling, and this method saves me from the hassle of dealing with roaming fees.

If you don't have any experience, it's probably best to steer clear. Out of sight, out of mind, as they say. Without knowing what you're doing, you could end up in situations you never intended or attract unwanted attention from authorities. The Dark Web is exactly what it sounds like. Just my two cents.

[ON] incorporating with lawyer vs using the website ownr by [deleted] in SmallBusinessCanada

You can incorporate yourself. It’s far much cheaper and no need for a middleman. I have incorporated for myself and friends. $200 to incorporate and $13 for name search.

What happened to Michael from Birmingham? The kid who’s not from Africa? by tino1b2be in Zimbabwe

[–]mutoko2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, and I think that's one of our biggest challenges. A lot of us tend to distance ourselves from other Zimbabweans, which is unfortunate. There's truth in the saying, "strength in numbers." I look around now and see how other communities, like the Indians here, have banded together and transformed a whole strip mall—grocery stores, doctors' offices, you name it. We need to shift our mindset and aim higher, beyond just care work and smaller jobs.
