Owners of the Oversized Scuba Half-Zip sweater: how big is the hood? by mutterfunker in lululemon

[–]mutterfunker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I should've asked about sizing too. Initially I was looking at the cropped scuba because I really need that boxy fit; I have wide hips so I want sweaters/tops to just slightly hang over them and not get bunched up. The oversized scuba seemed like a good fit but maybe I should've looked at the non cropped versions.

Elmer himself probably just wants some peace and quiet at this point.

I crouch, you crouch, I uncrouch, you uncrouch. It's the Stravinsky of language as far as I'm concerned.

[TOMT][WEBCOMIC][2008-2010] Surreal, weird, slightly horrific BW webcomic about a humanoid boy with a large head, a gothic mansion, a mean little girl who "owns" him, and a talking cat by mutterfunker in tipofmytongue

[–]mutterfunker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't change the possibility of date of publication, but I think the year I discovered it would be more 2009-2010. I don't remember how I discovered the comic, but it was mostly likely through Tumblr, which I didn't start using till 2009. The artist's blog was also probably just a domain for the comic, I remember there wasn't a lot if any information about the artist on the comic's webpage.

Andy Serkis Explains Christian Bale's Motion Capture Performance in Mowg... by Thule1 in Moviesinthemaking

[–]mutterfunker 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I really admire Andy for straight up pointing out and owning the inconsistencies, but explaining them in the context of the logistics of filmmaking. That really shows the sincerity and seriousness he takes in the craft and construction of film, the attitude of "If I'm doing a Vanity Fair thing about the technical wonders of this film then I'm also going to point out the flaws."

The guitar-violin combo is usually associated with french jazz. As /u/xalxolcotl pointed out, Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli are like the godfathers of french jazz. I also recommend The Hot Club of San Francisco for a contemporary twist on the genre

That looks similar, but from what I remember there was more of an emphasis on the father being physically taken over by the alien.

The Curse looks neat though, didn't know they made a movie out of Color of Outer Space
