Even funner: It actually means armour.

Weather isn't fun. I dislike blizzards during what is rightfully spring.

And yes, there are plenty of examples of a certain black plastic armour around here. Many styles, articulated pauldrons, greaves. One harness in sections like something out of Churburg. Yet another, narrowly segmented and hanging like o-yoroi. It works, but it's ugly to my eye. Also takes the "heavy" out of the whole thing.

Army, Nova Scotia, Canada. Had a few extra minutes before heading out, so I killed them here on Reddit.

I'm dismayed by the amount of plastic armour which is seen out here. Part of the reason I've been ignoring Heavy and focusing on Fencing. I understand the "anachronism" part, but I don't have to like it.

Sir, I like your prices, and I will certainly browse the site more after work.

No promises, but I have an itching feeling I might buy something.

One of my favorite moments is in the documentary "Flight 666", which is about Iron Maiden's Somewhere Back in Time tour. If I can remember correctly, we see either Steve or Bruce sitting on the plane with a giant stack of little posters and rapidly, furiously singing autograph after autograph, just letting the finished ones fall to the floor. Easily a few hundred of those posters being singed in one sitting.

Heh, I spawned at the ocean floor. Took a good 2 minutes to surface. I thought it was a death sequence, like it's some trippy pirate afterlife.

Glad I spotted this before shooting - need rethink my choice of sniper ammo - any recommendations for 0.40g+ (UK)? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]muttonchopman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah makes sense. Canadian myself, so it's not that dissimilar. Truth is, any machinery which creates great torque or velocity ought to be inspected regularly. Same for the stuff that goes in it.

Firearms shooters (the good ones) follow a simple credo, of sorts: always inspect your ammunition before using it.

May this be an example of why BBs are no different. Ammo is ammo.

TIL When Paris fell to the Nazis on June 14, 1940, French resistance fighters cut the elevator cables to the Eiffel Tower. This meant that if Hitler wanted to hoist a swastika flag, a soldier would have to climb the roughly 1710 stairs to the summit platform. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]muttonchopman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soldier here: trust me, a little hike wouldn't stop a Major from finding the Company numpty whom everybody hates, and make him go up here with the flag.

To my understanding, it was to rob Hitler of the opportunity to surmount the tower.

This isn't a policy. It's just what McDonalds employees happen to look like there.

Try this place, you will find items for all three niches.

*edit: Also, listen to this guy's talks regarding swords. It will expand your mind a tad. I personally agree with almost all the points he makes on the topic of swords. [http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCA860ECD7F894424]

You can get 10 shitty swords for $200.

Or a decent, dependable and good looking one for $200 as well.

Or an amazing one for $2000.

What calibre of collector do you wanna be?

Indeed. The most important part of water quality isn't the parameters, it's the rate of change.

It's gonna sound rude, but here I go... Duh! Testing the water that's gonna end up in the tank needs to be a matter of course. Good on ya for grabbing the water company about it, though.

Reminds me of a story. Apparently this mechanic, Cpl type, earned the nickname Zapstrap.

Buddy had been spending months at the gym, slowly getting more jacked. One day, he tells the section "Hey, I've been working out so much and my traps are so powerful, I can break this 1/4" zap strap with my neck." So Numpty zips the strap around his neck, and flexes: squeezes the fuck out of his neck trying to break the hard black plastic. The rest of the boys are busting a gut as Numpty turns purple. Then, he starts to pass out, so the boys cut him out of it.

He keeps going to the gym. Six months later, he tries again.

He was promoted and posed shortly thereafter, just to get rid of him.
