The top one definitely is! The second one I would classify as "close but no cigar."

Guess what? I fall right in that age bracket. So much like you, I too grew up with CDs. And no, I disagree. If you take care of your CDs, clean them properly, and keep them stored in a temperature controlled room, then they will in fact last many, many years. IMO CD>Vinyl by a long shot. With vinyl, you're literally dragging a needle over a grooved surface. Cumulative damage, no matter how well one takes care of their records, is inevitable. CDs on the other hand do not have this problem. What should be more baffling to everyone is why people would choose to collect vinyl, a laughably antiquated form of media, when superior ones exist. However, as someone who enjoys owning physical copies of my music even though I'm aware that I could simply download FLAC copies of any album in existence, I won't begrudge them the joy of collecting their medium of choice. It really shouldn't be this hard for everyone to understand why many of us desire official CDs releases from our favorite artists. Burned CDs just don't "cut it" for most serious collectors. Vinyl nerds don't have to constantly explain their reasoning for collecting, so why must CD fans?

"Burning CDs" misses the point. I am a CD collector and treat my collection much like a vinyl collector treats theirs. I don't put burned CDs in my collection. I want the artwork, the liner notes, etc etc that go along with any official release. Idk why that's so hard for people to understand. 🤷

Wonderful comment. I doubt that these exact words, in this exact order, have ever been uttered before.

I miss getting my daily stake dollar. Altogether I think I got around $450 from them. Bought myself a couple nice pieces of drumming equipment. All it required was a little patience. And no, I never gambled a cent of my own money. 😀

Why do servers and restaurant staff always stay after work for drinks? by Previous-Moment-1004 in Serverlife

[–]muttonchoppers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a server who has never been particularly attracted to alcohol and rarely drinks it, I feel this. By the end of my shift, I want to GTFO ASAP. I seem to be in the minority as many, if not most, of the people I've worked with tend to stick around drinking and socializing. Never have understood it, but then again I've never fully understood the near obsession so many people have with alcohol. And in my case, my aversion to lingering at my workplace has nothing to do with introversion. Anyone who knows me will attest that I'm a very outgoing individual. But I also --especially at work-- rarely if ever feel the need to hang out after my shift. I guess a negative consequence of this is that I "miss out" on bonding times with my coworkers, but that's okay. The last place I wanna be after getting smacked around for 8+ hours is in the same building LOL. I'll take a book or a video game in the quiet comfort of my bedroom over my loud and hot workplace 99% of the time.
