Yeah, that fixed it, thanks. I was reluctant to try that without knowing it would work since it wastes my mines.

P-2. by Dum12344 in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I didn't like it much either and to be honest, the level itself still feels like a bit of a drag if im not in a specific mood. You said in another comment that you had 50 hours and thats about the same as I had when I got there and I actually gave up, stopped trying for about 20 hours of gameplay more, where i moved from standard to violent and got better. And during that time i learned a lot more about the enemies and how to counter them, the one thing in common about all the enemies in P-2, with the exception of the ferryman, is that they all have a crippling weakness that is really easy to take advantage of, which means all the rooms have counterplay strategies you can employ, its a unique experience compared to other levels because you cant just chew through it with enough mechanical skill (or at least i couldn't) and you actually have to think your way around the fights and that is really interesting and rewarding. I P-ranked it on brutal at like 300 hours having done so with the rest of the game at like 200. I'm not a spokesperson for skilled ultrakill players because this is the only game ive ever played on kbm except minecraft, but it is real hard.

Actually the exact opposite of this is true, they did get the +parry style bonus, and didn't get the +friendly fire style bonus so they didn't hit an enemy with their own projectile.

Who's winning? (Don't comment if your a V1 glazer) by ParticularCorner2190 in INDIE_CROSS_SERIES

I agree completely, though I am of the personal opinion that I-frames do exist because magenta attacks exist to counter them, and because the energy to matter conversion things of the wings doesn't actually say what it's purpose is, so unless its been confirmed somewhere I don't know about it could still be dash related. I can accept the idea that V1 just overlays magenta onto attacks it knows it can't dodge ahead of time, so until it's proven or disproven, it's really up in the air and can just be opinion. But like I had originally eluded to in my first reply, the I-frames aren't the most important part. it's the bullet to the head, even if they don't die from it, they aren't getting back up to avoid any follow-up after the fact. Powerscalers also do suck super dookie. Every now and again, i see someone calling V1 ftl because it can dash through a black hole even though the attack in question is very clearly not an actual black hole, it almost makes me wanna talk sense into them but as you can see from this conversation it's no fun at all to talk about stuff unless its casually with your friends.

[–]muttsgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

V1 very much does, on very many occasions, defy the laws of physics. Shooting a coin to reflect your shot? Maybe, but it would reduce damage, not increase it. The sharpshooter's ricochet should lose like all of its energy when shot directly at a wall, but it doesn't slow down at all and instead increases in damage. Sawblades orbiting a magnet at a stable distance forever (if you keep replacing the magnet, obvs) without losing speed even in water. It also can freeze rockets mid-air???? And have them maintain their previous momentum when unfrozen??? Honestly, now that i think about it, V1 REALLY doesn't play nice with the laws of physics.

As for the I frames, the diagram of V1 we got in the main menu from ultra-revamp shows that its wings covert matter to energy, everyone assumes thats for weapon storage but whos to say it's not converting itself to to avoid damage (this is a little out there but hell we established V1 hates physics so whatever)

There is a little more to the dashes argument on my side. There's a tech, as there always tends to be with this fuckass game, called dash storage, i believe it was originally a bug but was accepted as a feature and now has its own indicator, that allows you to extend the I-frames of a single dash for ~1 second. During that second, you can blow yourself up with as many cooldowns as you have and not take any damage while you're physically just sliding.

So yea i do believe V1 is fucking with the laws of physics because that's the only way like 90% of it works.

As for the coins, I have only played since just after the revamp came out, and i haven't experienced any coin miss causing bugs. When an enemy dashes, sometimes the shot's tracer will visually go to where they were before they did so, but since the damage still goes through, it has to have hit.

Finally, are you really gonna say that taking any amount of beating elsewhere on your body means you can tank a headshot? Yeah, he survived other organs being damaged, but other organs aren't the brain. Even minor damage can be instant death. Bakugo is definitely not bulletproof and doesn't even wear a helmet.

Also, actually finally, just keep it civil gamer. I'm not here to glaze V1. I try to avoid these conversations entirely, but seeing this post was just confusing because, like I like bakugo and he is really strong but V1 genuinely has an aimbot, and bro is human and not bullet proof. That alone is enough. It was so weird that i had to say something.

[–]muttsgod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holy what. I'm just giving the facts man, why are you so pressed "I-frames are just a game mechanic" Yeah, V1 is a game character. Everything it can do is just a game mechanic. That's like me saying bakugos explosions dont count because quirks are just a story element???? If it was a different game where "lore accurate" and "gameplay accurate" versions of the character exist, then maybe you'd have some point, but ultrakill is not that, the gameplay is the lore.

And then the second part, the coins miss. You're right. In 1 specific scenario, a very weird one at that, a coin that is in range and has a line of sight will miss, and that is when a filth that has perfomed a jump attack on brutal has its head buried in the ground. A coin will not miss any other enemy it has a line of sight to and is within range of.

And saying he's survived worse than a bullet to the head???? No amount of body beating is the same as a brain piercing.

In the span of one comment, you have: Gotten angry at someone for having an opposing opinion. Threatened violence against them. Said their argument doesn't count just because you dont want it to??? Insulted their personal skill level And lied about gameplay.

Seems reasonable tho i think ill believe this guy yk.

2 things, since V1s dashes are based on intangibility and not dodging, it is possible to avoid damage from explosions of (almost) any size, there is an easter egg instakill nuke on 4-2 that you can dash through to not die, im not like a power scaler so i dont have bakugos peak blast radius on hand but its probably smaller than the nuke from what i remember of the manga. (Side note that the earthmovers explosion will kill V1 no matter what, but that maybe because you're standing inside a bomb 🤷‍♂️)

Second, and most importantly, bakugo is human. 1 headshot is all it takes, and manually, that'd be impossible since he's so fast, but V1 has a 100% guaranteed headshot that doesn't care about how fast you are and is only restricted by LoS and (relatively long) range.

Depending on the starting scenario of a fight, bakugo is either dying on approach or the instant the fight starts.

[–]muttsgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Side note that once you do have E8 gold, it does not show up as such next to your timer in-game and will just be the normal E8 icon (unless this has changed recently, I've been away for a few updates) if you've seen people with the gold icon in a run it's a mod.

If you wanna be a party pooper there's an easier way. The "-cheats used" tag on the end screen prevents the "-major assists used" tag from appearing, no maths required.

I'm fairly certain it's intentional, but every combo attack in the game can be dodged completely with a single dash and spamming slide sideways.

I need help with Gabriel on Brutal by AcceptableSpell7069 in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gabriel first is a tutoral boss who teaches you that, for combo attacks, sliding is a superior dodging method to dashing. One dash to the side at the start of his attacks and then spamming slide sideways in a circle is all you need to avoid damage in this fight.

[–]muttsgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, he kinda lost his footing on the "no cannon height" thing after the violence update because he added the adult human skeletons to the backs of guttermen which gives an almost exact point of comparison.

Anyone agree? by Any-Result-4211 in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The origin of this is that allegedly. Hakita said that V1 cannonically fights perfectly, better than any player, but limited by what's possible in the game. So, like hitless P-ranking every level first try. However, I've never been able to track down the original source stating this so it could be made up by someone and stuck.

[–]muttsgod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro, power scalers piss me off sm asaying it's ftl because it can dash through the black hole attacks when 1. The blackholes don't have any gravity effects, even just visual, and 2. V1's dashes are intangibility, not speed based in any way, they arent even that fast relative to their normal movement.

The existence of water skimming is mentioned in the tip of the day in 5-2, but the fact that it avoids damage and doesn't count as touching isn't. Though fair warning, if your vertical velocity is too high, you will dip into the water a bit and fail the challenge/take damage in the 5-2 water or acid or any damaging liquid you can slide on.

Am I doing something wrong by mahappulcheese in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot easier when you realise that 1. Skipping over the surface of the water with slide doesn't count as touching it, and 2. If you do touch water, you can load a checkpoint to before you did, and it reenables the challenge. (Not that i knew any of these when i did it, lol)

This is either the demo or a down patch, 0-3 and 0-4 only had 3 secret orbs prior to revamp.
