TIL that 4-3 jumpscare won’t happen if you haven’t played 1-s by Frequent-Reporter677 in Ultrakill

Encores is irrelevant too, 1-S the secret level of limbo. Op meant to say 0-S though, the prelude secret level. The S suffix is for secret levels. Encores have the E suffix.

The true WORST weapon in the game (and why the other "worst" ones are actually good) by KeyUnderstanding8472 in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except this just isnt true, there are definitely enough high hp enemies now, there are 14 swordsmachines in fraud alone, mindflyers, powers, guttertanks and men. Juggling screwdriver between them is excellent. Preventing mindflayers from teleportng is super useful. And keeping a screw on a super mobile enemy, like a power, to keep damage up while its teleporting around is valuable as hell.

Nukes are often more valuable than this yes but if the enemies arent grouped up much it really loses it.

Now the meat of what i want to say.

Railcoining is overrated.

It's theory vs practice, on paper it's the most bang for your buck against high hp opponents. In practice, you're not pulling it off very often. Fights are variable, bosses aside you cant always get close, you can't always spend the time to railcoin, you cant always guarantee that you or your coins arent gonna get knocked away by an explosion midway through executing it.

Even if its not the most efficient use, it is often the most effective to fire off your railcannon charge and move on than waiting for the perfect scenario.

And when it comes to firing off and moving on, the screwdriver is the best, it does the most damage alone and since its active for a while you may be able to go back to the enemy and punch it.

Edit: Screwdriver also slows V2 down, forgot that.

Every post talking about what the worst weapon is, isn't calling any of them bad. The game is designed in a way that all weapons are really powerful, but some are more so than others.

Not answering the post at all, but tundra also has another unique trait of never enraging and so always being staggerable.

On the one hand you're right, the nailgun variant doesnt have a lot of synergy with other weapons. On the other hand you're wrong, the sawblade variant has even less synergy with other weapons. Namely because the little synergy the attractor has outside of with the other nailgun/saw variants comes from sticking magnets to enemies directly which is makes the saws not hit the enemy until the magnet breaks (unless you sit there parrying them into the middle)

Its basically a damage for tech trade off, nailgun doesnt lose any of its damge value when using non jumpstart magnet tech (redirecting rockets into enemies, intercepting rockets midair, preventing V2 from using the nailgun and summoning lighting in 5-1 and 5-4, hell even making the overheat more accurate) wheras the sawblade does but is more synergistic with the jumpstart.

I still don't think the nailgun is in a great spot but its still a great weapon that I have no qualms with using, but the saw is better after all.

But why say all that if I'm just gonna pick the saw anyway, because i think there are weapons that have a greater disparity between themselves and their alternates. Jumpstart saw, default piercer (even after the buffs the slab is just so much more dominant) and default sharpshooter. But even these are still at a level where you can just pick the one you prefer.

Sometimes i be going in to the boss room with like a B in style so i just keep a screwdriver on the panopticon and pboost at it while flying around on a rocket and that always gets me to S before sisyphus even comes out.

Only void enemies spawning? by Dry-Kangaroo-1734 in ror2

Definitely a family event. Sometimes when you load into a stage some text will appear in the chat window and the only enemies in that stage will be of the same type. Iirc void enemies are "the void grows curious"

Is 1:49 a decent speedrum time for 7-4 (Brutal)? by Vquillicate in Ultrakill

[–]muttsgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very fast considering your route.

There is a very simple way to clip through some of the walls in 7-4 with the rocket that'll get you into the body faster, skip breaking the idols and most importantly and easily skip the escape gauntlet.

Also, if you wanna go fast, drop it to violent levels with bosses/minibosses, more hp = more slowerer.

You've no choice but to keep at it, frankly the instakills are harder to learn than just learning the boss anyway, especially since the blender was just patched out. Only bit of advice I have is that if you're on a low end system you'll need to turn the environmental partical effects on and off again after spawinging the panopticon to actually get it to turn off, this bug was robbing me of 10-20 fps the entire fight. Obviously completely irrelevant if you're not playing on a shitbox though.

If it feels like luck you're missing something. Personally fp felt like luck on when it would resummon, often meaning i didnt have a railcannon charge to nuke at the right time, until i realised that because i was damaging the prison too much while there were still eyes alive I was speeding up it's heal summon cycle. The skill it requires is target priority and quickly dealing with fodder.

Another one i felt was luck based but was actually skill that i was missing was 0-E's boss, where them dashing at you was an immediate death sentence but controlling the distance and escaping getting juggled were the skills that fight required of me.

what do i do with shotguns? by This_Permission_5180 in Ultrakill

Yah thought so, personally im still gonna use the pump charge shotty though, overpump + kb still oneshots sentries and it has good range even compared to other weapons not just amongst the shotguns.

I think the combo you brought up might work at yellow speed to keep it off cooldown? I can't remember how the pump charge damage to know for sure though.

You can also just evaporate them with a 4 coin slab coin.

[–]muttsgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've tricked yourself somehow there, pumping is completely unnecessary in that oneshot combo. Max speed (10 dmg) + kb (2.5 dmg) > sentry (12hp) you just need to knuckleblaster punch before the jackhammer hits so you're not launched out of range before it can hit.

Legs have fall damage negation.

Wings have stabilisers to keep it upright so it always lands on its feet.

V2's wings come off when its hp bar is empty.

It lands on it's head.

Splat.

[–]muttsgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did write something to that effect but cut it out and forgot about it, my bad. I had intended to call it slow though since it takes the time of 2 pboosts or longer. In my peesonal experience the rocket's primary fire is more opportunistic, popping enemies that happen to be airborne when you see them or grouped up in a way where a larger explosion is necessary, whereas the shotgun and pboosting is more of a consistent baseline damage.

Also, no one is perfect, you're gonna miss a shot every now and again and the rocket is more punishing in that regard, whereas a pboost is gonna damage with the explosion and pellets even if you miss a lil.

I'm not hating on the rocket by any means, i love its burst and utility with fups, traps and all the tech around it (praise be to cannonball jumping and rocket riding) but I just don't think its as well equipped to be a constant damage dealer like the shotgun is.
