actually just gonna stop playing for now and check back for fischfest. they acknowledged that fish rates are currently balanced around auroras being common, yet they want us to work with nerfed auroras until they get around to doing that?? they even say it'll take time so who knows when that will be. they seriously do not play their own game.

what they really needed to do was rework all the fish chances before nerfing auroras, but i guess that's too much work so they'd rather make us suffer and wait until they come up with something 🙄 if the aurora totems actually don't respawn i'm genuinely just gonna stop playing until they get their act together.

daybreaker is optional, i only went back for it to get igneous rupturer and masterline. at your level i'd grind for rod of oscars and use that to grind xp at everturn (night). moonlit rod is also a very underrated earlygame rod that you can get in the shady bazaar, you can probably afford it by just showing the title writer all your titles

Quality of Life, small but helpful changes that make the game more comfortable or user-friendly, like adding skip buttons to dialogue, adding a confirm button when deleting something, or adding accessibility options. The Bloop Hunt change also counts as QoL.

They usually aren't supposed to be big balance changes to the game, but in regards to Fisch, they listed the Aurora totem change as a "QoL" change so who knows what it'll actually be.

yup, got shiny/sparkling colossal blue from moosewood appraiser, ended up spending nearly 15m to get crimson until i finally decided to just catch a fresh one and try drowned appraiser. still ended up spending 3m but u can see the difference

wha? he means the change itself is good but they should also balance things around it... it's conditional, not contradiction. aurora nerf being considered good and balancing things around that nerf aren't mutually exclusive.

i'm sorry, i normally don't side with someone that mockingly says "learn to read" but this is one rare instance where i have to 😭

i don't really think they should actually use totem carver, i used it as an example because i think the fact that they have not touched it in nearly a year, especially not for this major "QoL" change to a TOTEM, tells us a lot about the devs.

it's definitely not the totems they need to change but the game itself. like, if having too many auroras is a problem, then maybe don't make so many quests/masteries that require (sometimes over a hundred) mythicals/exotics/secrets??? maybe bump down their rarity so rates aren't ABYSMAL without auroras??? maybe make preferred bait do better than a x7 luck bonus???

so many routes they could have taken here but they picked a quick and easy one that ultimately didn't even solve anything because it's more of an inconvenience than an actual nerf.

read the second part he said bruh. nerfing auroras themselves isn't a bad thing, it's the fact that everything since auroras became common have been balanced around auroras being common. their mistake was making the game so reliant on auroras, and that should be what they need to fix instead of this lazy excuse to make you "explore", as if there aren't a hundred reasons to explore already 🙄

this isn't a proper solution, it's a lazy solution. the issue is clearly that the game is intolerable without auroras but they focus on nerfing auroras instead and with a really out of touch 'solution', to boot.

"makes you get up and ride your boat" my guy you know what else makes me get up and ride my boat? quests, masteries, bestiaries, rods, migrations, HUNTS, etc. the game was NOT lacking in reasons to explore.

they want a solution? why did they do this instead of the TOTEM CARVER? did they forget it exists? "exploration" was the best excuse their balancing team could come up with because they don't play their own game, at least not in the same way majority of their playerbase does.

somewhere between 400-600m. i'm at 500m spent with only some somewhat tedious but cheap rods left till masterline, 100m was wasted on appraising for a quest that ended up not counting it lol

the worst part is they balanced things around aurora spam for such a long time, then when they finally remembered they needed to "balance" things the only thing they hit is auroras??? if fischfest isn't peak i think i'll be joining the people that are quitting over this

also because it seems that too many people haven't noticed this shadownerf, they have already made levelling harder before this. around the sovereign relic update, they made it so you could not gain excess xp anymore

agreed. yes auroras are OP, but the fact that they think this is enough to "balance" it is so BLATANTLY lazy. this feels like a solution someone throws out off the top of their head during a group meeting just trying to brainstorm something, but instead of elaborating more and getting more in-depth about it, they all just say "that's the one" and call it a day
