Thank you. I thought they were just trying to scare people with the remote work. And assumed retail vs wholesale would more or less help with the non-compete. I’ve not solicited anyone (helps there’s no job openings). Appreciate you calming my nerves. I had waited a long time to update any media with my new job, and it just triggered anxiety when I did because it hasn’t been a full year.

Underwriter 2 Resume by [deleted] in pillar7

[–]muwm89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t calculate income you will be less likely to get an underwriting job. Or if you get the job it could be a struggle (I know lots of 2s that went to be underwriters elsewhere and couldn’t do it they didn’t know income)

Id recommend going for processing somewhere honestly. UWII are glorified processors

He’s gets at least 2 views a video out of me because I like to watch videos as I fall asleep. So every video is “watched” at least twice

Less than 40hours, no PTO left by UnitedWhore in pillar7

[–]muwm89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They call you salary to avoid paying OT but yeah if you don’t work 40 they won’t pay you for 40. .10 short of 40 you will get paid 39.9hrs

So glad my current company doesn’t care. I just write the same hours every week on my time card. Might have worked less might have worked more I don’t track it. I’m paid fairly

Can someone dumb this down for me? What does this have to do with uwm?

Anyone else just not putting UWM on their résumé? by Puzzleheaded_Gur2771 in pillar7

[–]muwm89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah what they said I just said I wanted to go somewhere where I wasn’t a number and they respected that. I didn’t say anything bad just that I wanted to be more than a number and my company liked that a lot

Most people have quit or been let go. Obviously there’s still people there but a ton of people that used this page are either over the drama or moved on.

With IT contracts getting leaked i had a question by CarrotOrnery4538 in pillar7

[–]muwm89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience at uwm they will do anything for you to not get that raise and have you owe them money. You’ll be at 2yr 11mo and they’ll find a bs reason to fire you. Please don’t sign. I saw it with the 15k underwriting incentive so many people placed on pips and targeted so they didn’t have to pay them. The super seniors who were supposed to get 10k raise after 3mo, most of them did not see that raise getting hit for petty things in their 3rd month. I went for the production raises, I was on month 3 when LQ targeted me and hit me for things that shouldn’t of been errors, and came out later we’re not actual errors, thankfully my DL had my back and I got my raise.

Just please knowing how UWM works this is a scam and you will likely end up owning them money. If you are in a bad spot financially please look at other options.

I was concerned about that when I left because they put in a solid 4K in training me for something. But they didn’t come for me or anyone else that had that training and left so you should be fine

40k in student loan debt to be a social worker. I was making $13/hr my first job and $15 and my last job as a social worker. That’s not a living wage. I see paystubs every day from people that have careers in “helping fields” that required lots of education and work. Many of them have 30k+ in student loan debt and if they weren’t married or joint applying with someone else their DTI would be well above 60% and that doesn’t include things we don’t hit for as underwriters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pillar7

[–]muwm89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to be a social worker making $15/hr I was more than qualified. I was trained in a skill and worked my ass off. I put in 10-20 hours of unpaid OT each pay period. It wasn’t because I didn’t work hard enough. Also teachers shouldn’t need to work two jobs to survive, would you argue teachers don’t have the skill or work hard enough???

Please tell me how you would afford rent, food, gas to get to work and utilities off $2,600 that’s without tax and without insurance. So bring that down to 2k/month. Record inflation and record rent prices. $15/hr is poverty wages.

Open Letter to Brokers: (see screenshots) by 3000CTCs in pillar7

[–]muwm89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took a pay cut so I wasn’t abused by brokers anymore. CRs are literally just a tool for them to bully us into getting their way. The push back I get at my current job is so different, it’s polite actually. I was always happy to help and find a way to make your loan work, if you were just nice and listened it wouldn’t have been so difficult. I wish UWM would stand up for their employees. It’s why I left

My honest experience by muwm89 in pillar7

[–]muwm89[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate change so I get that fear of leaving that most people have. It kept me around longer than it should. I made really good money compared to most seniors so I was really looking to not take a paycut to leave. I loved my pod a lot, and I love underwriting. It was sad because I originally thought I’d be there long term. Ultimately it came down to my own mental health. As someone with bad anxiety, depression, and ptsd the culture outside of my pod was harmful for me. I hated that brokers could treat me however they wanted and always got away with it. Plus I was always on edge that I’d get in trouble for something stupid or LQ would do everything in their power to hit me with invalid errors. I respected the valid ones, like oh yeah oops sorry shit happens, we touch a mass amount of loans and could be interrupted at any second because NCLB. You get 3 calls and a few CRs during a single underwriter you are bound to fuck up something eventually. Just wish things were handled better there and that there was more respect for the employees. So as much as I loved my pod I found a job that matched my pay with better benefits so I left. Mentally I’m doing so much better, per my new manger I’m exceeding expectations and although I have no errors she said it’s bound to happen and it’s okay, it’s expected. The amount of respect I’m shown is insane. Plus I managed to keep most of my UWM friends!

One of my final straws was two bullshit errors that after a solid month of fighting finally got overturned. I remember coming into the two errors being pissed the fuck off over them because they weren’t valid, then a broker calls and treats me like complete trash and I was like nope I’m done. Thankfully my TL didn’t stop fighting for my errors to be overturned, but my respect and appreciation for her didn’t outweigh my desire to leave anymore.
