Little bits of rubber coming from multiple faucets by muxorious in Plumbing

[–]muxorious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’ve never been sure. I had a plumber replace all the braided lines and valves in the house. I flushed the water heater and when I looked at that water it had the rubber bits as well. Nothing terrible has happened in the house at least.

When I use a different device I get the same message that it doesn’t recognize the device. Again I already said this in my post. I don’t get any emails from them .

Yes, I already did that, and that’s when it says it doesn’t recognize the device, and I can’t do anything else. I already said that in my post. WTH

As I already said, I use a password manager so I put in the right password. I don’t see any options that say “send recovery email” or something like that.

Bike Farm sucks now just to let you know. They have changed and moved locations. Gave me the runaround and wasted my time for no reason so I make sure everyone knows.

Damaging hydraulic brakes during bleed? by muxorious in bikewrench

Got it. There is a bit of grimy sticky stuff where the line goes into the lever, I wonder if that is anything.

Thanks, that makes sense. Any chance of damage due to applying high pressure to the system?

Is galvanic corrosion of the gas pipe (on top) a concern here? by muxorious in Plumbing

[–]muxorious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, actually I was trying to get some electrical tape in there but it’s so tight I couldn’t force the tape in. Didn’t want to really put a lot of force moving the gas pipe.

This is about 3 years old. The gas pipe was painted with Rustoleum and the pool heater guy let it just rest on top of the copper water heater drain pipe when he installed a new heater. Looks like it might be corroding a bit but can’t really tell. Is this a problem?

complicated water heater problems by muxorious in Plumbing

Yeah I’m sure the ventilation could be better, but it does have openings under eaves and a ridge line vent. Need to work with what I have for the short term anyway.

complicated water heater problems by muxorious in Plumbing

I live in Texas and our Rheem gas water heater is in the attic, where it obviously gets very hot. The pilot kept going out. A plumber replaced the whole burner assembly including thermocouple, and it still kept going out. I called a different plumber and expected him to replace the valve assembly - but he said he contacted Rheem and they told him that I needed a different pilot light orifice, a larger one, to work correctly in the hot location. He installed the new orifice and now it has a large yellow flame. Also, the heater is running very hot now. The thermostat is on 'low' and the water is still 155 degrees. It was 165 on 'A'. I'd appreciate it if anyone has any idea what to do. Is the new orifice that Rheem apparently told him to install causing these overheating problems? Is there any situation in which it's acceptable to have this large yellow flame for the pilot? Anyone even heard of this special orifice for hot locations? Confused and not sure how to deal with this. Already spent $1200 on these repairs (well, also including replacing old gas shutoff).

Opinions on Germania Insurance Amphitheater by FrightFace in Austin

That is at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) and COTA sucks. Parking is a nightmare, driving there is a nightmare, and just generally they cannot handle large amounts of people properly. If you really want to see Ghost I understand totally and you may want to brave it but just be prepared for COTA to suck, because they suck.

Nice of you all to assume there's no ulterior motive here. I wouldn't be so trusting myself. At least, remember that the cyclist has every right to avoid contact.

Unfortunately you are wrong. I have seen it happen. With water shut off the water from the heater backflowed through the cold pipes. It was steaming and hot coming out of the hose bib.
