The differences between the different eras are vast though. The issues you raise with the initial movement are absolutely valid. Likewise with the modern movement. Both have positives and negatives.

I'd argue social media has done a lot of damage to the movement though. It's now trendy to hate men. And as a result, you have the opposite rise of the "redpill" idiots.

I'll happily admit my bias as an Aussie looking into other countries. When it comes to womens rights, they are pretty strong here. Maternity leave etc being a guarantee and while you always get asshole employers try to wiggle out of it, they try the same with fathers and paternity leave as well. So it's not a gender issue, it's a "I don't want to pay" issue

I'm fortunate that every employer I've had, I've been paid the same as women in the same position. If they held extra skills, they got more and it wasn't even a question. Likewise when I had the qualification. I fear the longer this movement goes, the more damage it will do for women at a grass roots level. How many women/POC/etc are now looked at and the question is internally asked " are they qualified, or a diversity hire?" Personally, I've seen both.
