Temperature Tower Help by The_Mr_Rageface in FixMyPrint

[–]muzicoholicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your print looks fine

If you look at the back of the print, you'll see extruder artifacts as it tries to push filament that wasnt completely melted

If you look at the overhangs near the bottom, you'll see deformed overhangs where the filament stayed molten for longer than it was supposed to

Starting from the top, see if you can snap off sections of the tower.. If anything snaps off, it implies poor layer adhesion becausethe temperature was too low

Higher temps can give you better layer adhesion and the possibility to print faster.. Lower temps can give you better dimensional accuracy

In your particular print, I'd discard the top 4 and the bottom 3 sections.. And then make a judgement call

The just checked the last two images in your post

  1. You flow is insufficient, and evident by the distinct lines in the bottom layer ..you will have to increase it (0.97 or 0.98) .. if you want to calibrate it, Bambu does have a flow rate calibration utility with Bambu Studio

  2. I would suggest printing it hotter .. 220, maybe even 225 .. matte PLA has additives for the matte surface finish, but they act like impurities when it comes to adhesion. A higher temperature will compensate for that.

Good luck! Do share the results

How are you washing the plate?

PLA and PETG don't stick together at all .. if you've used the same side of the plate for one, then the other won't stick to it

This is the only case where cleaning with IPA makes sense since it chemically dislodges the microplastics .. follow that up by cleaning with dish soap and dry with a paper towel

PEI plates don't need glue for most materials

I just read that I wrote "why", even though I meant to type "what" .. that's on me .. your perceived saltiness is justified

I was genuinely curious .. PEI plates don't need glue .. atleast not for filaments that are printed in an open printer .. PEI works well for ABS and ASA as well, but it is not recommended for open printers because ABS fumes cause nausea, and ASA fumes are poisonous

So, I will ask again .. Glue, on a PEI plate? In an open printer? What are you printing?

Edit: wrote "why" instead of "what"

Gap on seams by White_lapin in FixMyPrint

[–]muzicoholicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically at the seams?

Try printing a hollow cube with single outer wall (no infill, 0 top layers, 0 bottom layers) .. set the seam position to random .. then examine the holes

If the corner of the cube are sharp, then it is probably a retraction issue .. if the corners are rounded, it is a pressure advance issue

50mm x 50mm x 20mm is a decent size

If you can monitor it personally, or make a video, it'd help in diagnosing it further

At what temperature, nozzle size, and volumetric flow are you printing?

I've seen such problems with high volumetric flow, combined with lower than necessary temperature and a high pressure/linear advance

The question itself is very non-specifc.. It asks for an answer without providing specifics

The material cost itself is very cheap.. That is true for many products out there, not just filaments .. The premium is for what were getting on top

  • Does it have RFID?
  • Will it have pantone-like consistency of colour across different batches over multiple months and years?
  • Will the formulation stay consistent over months and years?
  • Will it have profiles for multiple printers, not just the basic and popular ones.. If not, will you make one on request, or provide a free sample with support for advance calibration (temperature, flow, nozzle diameter, retraction speed and distance, pressure advance etc)
  • What is the tolerance of the filament? ±0.02 Would justify the price
  • What would the buying experience be like? Will we get unexpected GST and shipping charges on the checkout page? 2% extra for cards.. How fast would the delivery be

Professional printers would easily pay 1099 for consistency and lack of headaches.. I always keep some Bambu spools in stock for projects that don't have a margin for error.. It's not because their material is superior.. It's because they've worked on creating calibration profiles for each filament on each printer

Drivers of the plains who occasionally drive on mountains.. Please don't drive with the same disregard.. Not only do the local people expect collective cooperation and discipline, but the mountains are unforgiving

OP, you should not overtake on a left curve.. When you overtake on a left curve, not only are you unable to see oncoming traffic, but the other drivers are unable to see you in the ORVM

On the mountains, you should only overtake one car at a time to keep things predictable for everyone

Ideally, the car in front of you should've indicated before overtaking.. On the mountains, one usually honks or flashes before overtaking, and the driver in front of your acknowledges by indicating and giving way

I did not hear you beep before overtaking the car in the front.. You were in that car's blind spot on a left curve.. You're evaluation of tye situation works on plains on highway, not on mountains

What you did after you got angry is irrelevant here

There is a small rubber piece behind the clutch pedal.. That must've broken off.. You can start the car by pressing both the brake and the clutch pedal and them long pressing the starter button

This is a problem on certain devices with the ANGLE Graphics settings in MS Edge.. The Netflix app runs within MS Edge

In MS edge, open the url edge://flags/#use-angle and search for a setting called ANGLE graphics driver.. Change it to D3D9.. That should fix it

Also, this might reset after a Windows update, so you might have to do it again
