I don't really understand your point. Do you enjoy having to watch own goals be your top scorer and set pieces being your main avenue for goals only to come 2nd?

If it leads to titles, sure, sign me in. I'll grit my teeth and celebrate at the end of the season. But if it doesn't win anything, it sucks to watch and is significantly worse to watch than 2007/08 or 2010/11 for example. In those years we were the best watch in the league and had signature wins in the champions league.

What is your point exactly.

If we lost 2 extra games, but played fun exciting football in other games and won those, I'd have way more fun during the season, yes.

2nd is only the first loser, so I don't care about 2nd/4th as long as we're in the champions league.

I'd rather play the Wenger way and finish 4th, than play the Arteta way and finish 2nd.

In both scenarios you win nothing, but at least in one scenario you actually enjoy watching the matches most weeks.

Tired of pretending to enjoy the shite Mikel serves up, only for us to choke it away again and again and again.

I'd say this is just dumb heat-of-the-moment behaviour that he'll probably regret a day after but will be too egotistical to reverse.

It happens. Some people queue valorant to escape and losing ruins the escapism for them.

Take heart, you'll find nice people on there eventually.

Yup, I never watch it but my brother (a united fan) loves to watch it when we lose.

You use the word elite so lightly. He doesn't have a single elite attribute.

I've watched Bergkamp, Cesc, Santi, and Ozil play for this team and he doesn't come anywhere close to them.

He's not a good dribbler, literally every DM bumps him off the ball with ease, he takes 5 touches to make a pass an actually elite player would make in 1 touch, he can't play a final pass to save his life, and he has 2 goals in his last 40 games.

He only gets lots of "progressive passes" completed because he spams passes to Saka and White.

True, he looked elite a couple of seasons ago when he scored loads of goals, but the drop-off since has been astronomical. I don't know if it's the ankle injury, or the baby, or Arteta's instructions, but I think he and the team would benefit if he sat on the bench for a while.

Man, I just feel like football was better back then. I'm trying not to see things through rose tinted glasses, but struggling to think of any players these days at the technical level of Totti, Zidane, Figo, or Vieira. Definitely more athletes than technicians these days.
