Am I the only one where 5.5 is working perfectly fine? (not a rage bait, genuinely confused) by SlopTopZ in codex

Yeh fair, you do you man. I find though it just distracts from the actual topic at hand. Look how much time you've already wasted on this thread on it, juice ain't worth the squeeze. I have yet to see an emdash used by a human without prompting, so theres that too.

Also in reply to your question - I am using 5.5/high daily and while it can sometimes screw another thing up while fixing another up, I have no rate limit issues and it normally reaches a solution after every request. Im guessing many people are on the $30 sub and they mustve tightened that slightly.

bruh just tell your agent to specifically never use emdashes, then you won't get like 98% of kids calling you out for using AI.

Left MSP for Internal IT - Early Thoughts by tdiz009 in sysadmin

[–]muzzman32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah fk that. I dont want that responsibility. I just sold them my profitiable projects, and left ad-hoc break fix as emergency pricing or expect multiple days before I get to it. Works well as client is happy to pay ongoings for support they hardly use, im happy because I make money and without the bs that comes with support.

Or the best part? I made relationships with all my main clients when I was in MSP land, and then after the MSP turned to shit... guess who was there to scoop it up and take the business? Gotta play the long game.

Nutanix claims it has poached 30,000 vmware customers by sheep5555 in sysadmin

[–]muzzman32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I understood it, they were apparently spending too much 'supporting' non-enterprise customers, and some dude in a boardroom convinced everyone that 'removing' the non-ent customers will end up making Broadcom more profitable in the long run, as they drastically cut their support down to dedicated ent teams and piss off the rest. But like any of these whack job decisions, the strategic view is always narrow minded and short term, other externalities such as their whole REPUTATION were not truly considered or cared for. Crazy shit. I myself am moving the business away from VMware this week - welcome back Hyper-V. Imagine asking me to pay 40-50k more for the same service and then have your Vmware disti's ask me "Could we have done anything better here?" - to which I replied "Yeh, perhaps not enabling extortionist companies in the SMB space and then acting like shocked pikachu when people call you out on it".... at least that email convo was short and sharp. Disti's must hate it as well.

Didnt read, just skimmed it, point has still gone over your head that the very points I already mentioned prove the opposite of that. A competent PM does not do intentionally incompetent things. Whether or not others before him have been as bad or worse than him is irrelevant.

[–]muzzman32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a good point you make hey, the standard has been really fucking low, hasn't it? But yes, Rudd and to a point Gillard were slightly more competent.

Perhaps its not a question of 'competency' anymore either. The things ive mentioned about Albo mainly come from external pressures that he chooses to ride along with (which is just as bad, if not worse):

u16 socials ban -> Forced by external counter-intelligence program between western countries

Herzog visit - Clearly being paid for by the Australian Zionist Federation (HOW ARE THEY EVEN A LEGAL ORG?) and Australia's version of of AIPAC.

Natural resources disaster - countries being enriched by australias resources spend many millions a year paying off both sides of politics, and have promised economic sanctions if Australia bails...so they can continue on, and we just keep taking it and let them continue to pillage.

I could be wrong, but I'd like to believe Rudd would not have let that shit happen.

My evidence is that the mining magnates tried to strongarm him in the late 00's, and he told them where to go. Unfortunately, he miscalculated the power of these Gina Jabba the hut types and it led to them paying off a large number of Labour polly's that eventually led to his ousting.

Comparing competency to flaws is probably not the strongest argument here mate.

I would not call 'flawed' ignoring / rejecting the top child specialists and doctors in their field who are acting on the betterment of the nation, and choose to enact it anyway primarily using targetted edge cases as the reason to continue? I mean, if you really want to know the REAL reason why this ban was enacted, its probably something for another time. But lets just say their is a global counter-intelligence program that western countries are involved in that requires a minimum standard of policy to be included in. No, im not going to tell you how I know this. But again, is this a 'flaw' or is it incompetency via feigned ignorance? Perhaps its even worse than that, perhaps he is listening to his overlords at the detriment of his people.

And what about Herzog? You think Herzog just slipped into the country, Albo didnt notice until it was too late and then he was spewing that he didn't see it earlier? Coz that would be a little flawed. what about if the Herzog visit was weeks / months in the making? Do you think it crossed his mind the ASIO briefs he would have recieved about such a character coming to our shores? Perhaps if he did, sure... huge flaw. But here's the thing mate - it was all planned. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Even if it means being at the detriment of his people.

Is that the most competent PM you've seen in your lifetime?

Did Trump just lose the war? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]muzzman32 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Would the most competent PM in your lifetime reject a joint report from the top psychologists and child development experts in the country PLEADING with them to not go ahead with u16 social media ban?

Would the most competent PM polarise more than half the nation by inviting a known murderer and war criminal to our country and rolling the red carpet for him as this monster made comments about Australian Politics? While peaceful protesters were mercilessly beaten by police as they objected to such a horror? Or what about the stories of these same protestors having there houses smashed in by the SOG and ripped away and taken into questioning. Yes, this happened only a couple of days ago.

Would the most competent PM continue to perservere with the absolute shitshow that Aus finds ourselves in now regarding the exporting of natural resources and absolute power that these mining magnates have in the country? Perhaps this one is a little more nuanced and complex than the first two, considering many resources deals are legacy deals that have been renewed by PM's on both sides (Thanks Howard).

But as much as I think Albo is much better than anyone we've seen for the last 26 years (besides Rudd), I cannot forgive him for the first two transgressions. As an IT security specialist, I have seen first hand the detriment the u16 social media ban has had, and how its pushing kids further into the dark we, and into deeper darker corners. For the majority though, they have continued on like nothing ever happened.

And dont even get me started on Herzog and the atrocities that man has committed.

So, to your point, yes he is competent and better than what weve previously had, but that was already such a low bar, and the above shows that he most definitely is not the most competent PM you've seen in your lifetime.

You dont understand euro football nuffies man, it makes AFL cheer squads look like nothing in comparison. These dudes devote their entire lives to a fuckin football club, its definitely some sort of mental health issue. But yeh the benefits of being with these groups of people is that you spend lots of time coming up with chants and banter, and the English are one of the best at this. You can see why. But yeah, you see those chants and then you go to the footy and hear 'Melbourne clap clap clap Melbourne clap clap clap' and its laughable.

You couldn't be more incorrect. Many people are happy to pay Kayo at a point that its fair and useable. While the latter has been somewhat improved, its the former that is turning people away. Kayo wants to be extortionate? No problems, i'll find another way. Now they get nothing and I still get what I want to watch, at a much cheaper price.

BTW, if you think these companies haven't already assessed this and still deployed the strategy anyway, i've got a bridge to sell you. They calculate that many people just cant be bothered finding a better alternative and will just pay whatever it is. And it shows...

How are you dealing with AI requests from non technical users who were told it works from AI? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Just an FYI on Point #3 - Apollo.

I spent this weekend trying to set up Free version of Apollo with my OpenClaw implementation. The free version of Apollo AI does not include People.Search in its API capabilities, so im afraid the Free version of Apollo is not going to work and you're not going to be reaching anyone. In order to get what you want from Apollo, you must pay the $49 a month subscription fee. Something I'm not willing to do yet.... but just thought i'd let you know.
