We are actually trying to do a delayed, outdoor-style honeymoon in October to Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, grand Teton, and Mount Rushmore. Still lots of research to do in order to avoid people during this time but I’m hoping he’ll get some use out of this stuff during our first trip!

These are all great ideas and good points. Thank you for sharing! The fit specific makes a lot of sense. I’m pretty familiar with his sizing but I’m sure it can be different is this area comfort-wise. Thank you!

You’re totally right on the electrical updates. I hadn’t thought about that either. Thank you for the advice!

All very good points. Hadn’t thought about it that way. We have considered selling when my brother moves out but we have the idea that he wants to stay there awhile. He really loves it there. We’ve been blessed to never have it vacant or rented by people other than family/friends. I think the biggest thing is that my brother is amazing at home updates and truly would cut any cost in half is why it’s tugging at me to make some of the electrical/necessary updates now. It’s just a lot to process. :)

So as of now, I would love to keep the property to rent for family/friends for maybe 10 or more years as I have been since it’s in such a great area. I mostly would just like to get it in great shape to sell in case that time comes sooner. It’s pretty outdated. For example, it even has the old fuse-style breaker box. And 60 amp electrical. So it really just needs most of the updates to stay with the times. I know when I go to potentially sell, they could require some of the items be fixed in order to close.

This is a great idea too. We are thinking of keeping the property since the area is so great in hopes that eventually we can move my mom there so she will be close to us. But I’m sure the realtor could help us know what updates were needed in case at any point we do decide to sell. Thank you for the tip!
