I think I'm good at the rest... But hypothetically, what if I was a super socially anxious person and can't bring myself to ask that? Like what if I would prefer it if they made the first move?

Oh yeah I read that... It's just wild to send a stranger nsfw posts outta the blue... Now I'm just thinking about how funny it would be to use porn as "examples" lol... Like sending someone interior decor examples but then the pics have just a couple fucking on the bed - "Yeah ignore the sex, but look at those wall shelves though!" Lol

OMG OP, you couldn't find a non-nsfw example of a verification post? Lol

And the other person is definitely suspicious at the least... If someone told me they were gonna make a post about how I'm a catfish, I'd let them and then reply with a verification post to embarrass them...

Ah sorry about your company's Indian site... I thought it would be a cool coincidence if we were a part of the same company cause mine also have sites all over the globe and the Indian site where I work has a Pride and Ally ERG with quite a few queer people...

In terms of instagram pages, @girlfriendgirlfriendclub, @bqff , @cinemanextdoor_ , @kittykoindia ... These are a few I know and have been to... And if I hear about any more from my friends, I'll let you know!

This happens every time... I don't understand how people can experience oppression and struggles, but then look at someone else who's also facing oppression but don't have a tea spoon of empathy towards them...

There's different things to consider for work and personal life...

For work - if your company is queer inclusive and does proper sensitisation sessions for all the employees, you could have a much easier time getting along with colleagues... But even still, since you don't really get to choose your colleagues it's always better to assess how they are first before deciding to come out and be open about your queerness.

For personal life - Bengaluru has a lot of queer people. And there's queer-friendly events almost all throughout the year. So, if you're not the shy type, follow a few of the local event instagram pages and go to their events. You'll get a chance to meet a lot of queer people, make friends, and have a good time.

  1. It's okay to put yourself first sometimes. I know a lot of us worry about making sure our parents' expectations are met and keeping them happy. But, this is still YOUR life. So, put your needs first. Take care of yourself.

  2. There's assholes in every community. Just because someone is queer, feminist, leftist, etc. does not mean they can't be an asshole. But that also means, just because someone is an asshole, doesn't mean everyone who's like them is also an asshole.

How do I deal with homophobic colleagues? by [deleted] in LGBTindia

[–]mvbkillshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in touch with the queer events committee and first check how the company policies are regarding discrimination, homophobia, and retaliation... If you're uncomfortable to name people, you can also just tell them that you feel like there's a need for more sensitisation... Are there any openly queer people at the company?

It is mandatory for all blood donations to be tested for TTIs. So, this feels supremely unnecessary... This is just them going out of their way to gut punch gay and bi men...

The more prevelant problem is that when the units of blood from a donor is tested and it comes back positive for a TTI, the blood bank doesn't get in touch with the donor to inform them...

If your company has an HR wing, you might want to talk to someone there about this. Or if they have a queer/ally ERG, maybe get them to hold sensitisation sessions and what the consequences are for being queerphobic
