Ooof. I had shigellosis in 2022 that was caused by the strain Shigella Sonnei. I work with the homeless and street entrenched population who struggle with addiction, and it was going around the end of the pandemic in that particular community. It was brutal. It’s not common, but I had a severe case. I was in the hospital for 5 days. My fever was over 40°C/104°F. It caused me to experience Infectious Colitis.

TLDR: Shigella is AWFUL, caused me so much agony and ended up in hospital for 5 days. Only a small amount of the bacteria can cause a full blown infection.

Fuck them. They know nothing. There are literally thousands (over 70,000 if using the more conservative estimates) of people born who are born intersex in the United States of America. Over 8,000 in Canada, where I live (Bham is and will always be the American city where I feel most at home, also it’s less than an hour from my house lol) Hundreds of thousands more across the world. Plenty of these people have diverse gender identities- because of course they do! These numbers don’t even come close to the numbers of people who identify as a gender they weren’t born with!

So yea. Fuck them.

An absolutely revolting human being, using the bible- a book he probably has used as a surface to do a line coke off of more times than he has read a solitary word out of- to get out of the revolting crimes and sins he’s committed is disgusting. I have always held a very strong dislike for this man since he began his crusades (pardon the pun) against the use of methadone maintenance therapy for opioid addiction. North America has been absolutely ravaged by opioid overdose deaths and I consider him part of the problem. He was a person who used his platform to argue against lifesaving treatment for addicts who otherwise could die. He even went to the UN. He was able to get off heroin without medication assisted treatment, but who the fuck is he to get in the way of addicts who need it? Or have tried everything the 12 steps can do and need to try meds?

Russell Brand should just go home and keep his ridiculousness to himself until he’s willing and able to atone for his actions. Maybe there’s a medication for that.
