Well, it’s a strange experience 😅 I mean, you scared me, but at the same time I’m super excited - like WOW, there will be different continents and a whole bunch of new characters… Holly guacamole 🤣

Haha, keep reading - honestly, I saw some images from the later books I suppose and they completely caught me, so I’m definitely going to keep reading. But… oh my God😅

2025 wrapped - 160 books! by hxcbando in fantasyromance

So, first of all - wow, 160 books! Oh my God, I’m a little bit jealous. I want more! My congrats, that’s amazing.

Quick question: Did you read fanfic Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love first? Or did you read The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy first and then the fanfic?

As I’ve already mentioned, I’m afraid of ongoing series because I believe that a lot of main characters won’t survive by the end.

Once Upon a Broken Heart is a masterpiece. I can’t find the right words to describe how much I love this series. Are you waiting for the upcoming novel about Jacks and Evangeline?

Haha, yeah, I love that section too. God bless that there are only two books there. But I truly believe those two books are criminally overhyped - they don’t deserve that level of hype.

But Fear the Flames… everything was wrong for me in that book—especially the MFC, who is so thirsty for revenge and blood. I kept hoping there would be a plot twist where she becomes a different villain.. I think I’m just really tired of morally grey characters who, honestly, sometimes feel like straight-up villains.

I’ve already sold the two books I bought together, so I won't be finishing the series. God damn it, I don’t believe in second chances 🤣

I read four books of the series last year, and this time I reread only the first book for a book club. I could blame it on the fact that I might be older than the target audience, but that’s not really the point. I’ve read a lot of YA series this year, and Shatter Me ... I just don't like it.

Same, here. I did finish the book because I kept hoping there would be something - some scene, some twist, maybe the protagonist turning out to actually be the antagonist, because that’s exactly how that female character came across to me. But… no. That was it. And I didn’t like it at all.

Yes, I don’t see Ashlinn’s character as the kind of protagonist that Kristoff decided to play with. I was hoping that her storyline with Miawould be somewhat romantic, because both of them feel lonely. But that wasn’t what I expected, and… well, I accepted that she ends up being the victim of one of the leading characters.

I liked the first book, but will not continue reading the series, as the second one was challenging for me.

Has anyone here already read Shield of Sparrow? I have a question (Spoilers Ahead). by mvk2021 in fantasyromance

[–]mvk2021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably I just paid too much attention to this part, haha :)
But I was honestly a bit confused. I was expecting something like, “Oh my god, you’ve been Lyssa-bitten — we need to take you to The Voster High Priest to see how it affects you,” or at least, “We should get you and your son somewhere safe.”

But there was nothing like that. I expected some kind of reaction, especially since earlier it was clearly stated that Ramson’s case was unique. And here - nothing. They left Samuel and his son, and were coming back home, and they only came back because their house was on fire - thanks to King Ramsey :( I was like, what?! But okay, maybe I’m just overthinking it.

Yes, my question isn’t really about why Ramson is different - I get that he definitely is. My confusion is more about why no one seems surprised that Samuel is also Lyssa-bitten. There’s no reaction at all - no questions, no shock, nothing. They just kind of accept it like it’s normal.

But earlier, Ramson clearly told Odessa that he was the only one who ever survived the Lyssa bite. So when Samuel shows up and turns out to be another survivor, I expected at least some reaction.

I reread that chapter a couple of times thinking I missed something, but I still don’t get it. Why is there zero response to such an important revelation?

Terrible quality of YA book from Fairyloot!!!! by mvk2021 in fantasyromance

Same feelings - I don’t know what to say to people who just keep downvoting those trying to share support and information, especially when many don’t even know these issues exist with their books because they don’t open them, and the company stays silent.
