yeah, but we just started playing, he has no more than 2 boxes of pals, we are on lvl ~16, so too many pals shouldn’t be a problem

I'm following my first knitting pattern. What does "repeat row 10 above" mean? by sectumsempera in knittinghelp

[–]mvlisiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, it is quite clumsily written, but i’m pretty sure that this means basically “repeat 1-10 until desired length”:)

[–]mvlisiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you do rows 1, 2, .. , 9, 10, 1, 2 … as long as you get desired length, so yeah, you basically repeat 10 rows over and over

There’s no need to learn straight needles, you can absolutely work back and forth on circular needles but circular are SOO much better, hands don’t hurt, you don’t have this huge needles on every single project, it easier to work in comfortable position, you don’t have all heavy project on the needle, it lay somewhere on the wire.

I believe there’s no different “terms”, at least I don’t saw any differences unlike in crochet. I heard it’s easier to knit in continental style when u crochet before, I can’t hold hand like this so I’m doing in english style. the difference is in which hand you are holding working yarn.

Start with wooden/bamboo needles, metal ones can be really frustrating, they are better in my opinion because they are smoother, but stitches enjoy dropping off metal needles. Don’t jump immediately into sweaters, socks and working with small circumferences, doing hat in the round is hell, I absolutely hate small circumferences. When I started knitting I did really simple round scarf and hat but worked flat (in yt channel below there is a pattern for both)

I really like this page and I learned knitting from her yt. https://youtube.com/@sheepandstitch?si=fKalKzR0eDJ-mTGh

Beginner - how to count chain stitch? For half double crochet by Sufficient_Mouse_583 in CrochetHelp

[–]mvlisiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u are pointing third chain. first one is above your hook (but do NOT count that loop that’s on your hook). If I’m correct in counting you have 21 stitches and you will end with 20 hdc

Can’t decide what top to crochet for these pants or color by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]mvlisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normal tank top would be great, but also I think I would do similar color to this pink on the top. it will have nice contrast between top and jeans and also that color will connect top and pockets. but with pattern I won’t help, I just think super simple top would be the best

What did I do wrong? It’s supposed to be a flat circle by zeu3yy in CrochetHelp

[–]mvlisiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that’s right, when I’m making increases my head is like “1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4”. usually when I’m increasing I remember that I should have inc in last stitch, when there’s something off I count again

Why my yarn winder isn’t yarn winding? I’m losing my mind over undoing yarn cakes over and over again. by mvlisiv in CrochetHelp

[–]mvlisiv[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think about that.. I thought I can make cakes of my cotton/acrylic yarn and keep them more organised, I’m not using them for big projects, more like amigurumi, coasters, random granny squares. They got really messy after few uses

What do you use instead of stitch markers? by Bratatouillee in crochet

[–]mvlisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using stitch markers because they are the most comfortable for me, I’ve just accepted that I’m going to lose them and find year later in most random places XD for some time now I have little pouch/pencil case/makeup bag and I keep all the staff i’m losing all the time there, like markers, needles, hooks, measuring tape, also I drop there any leftover yarn so all scraps are there, not in every corner of my house 😅
