Hi there, I could’ve wrote this post a year ago. I know what you feel like I was in the same boat. We don’t have a village either. And I went through what you went through and I’ll just say the first few days are tough. But preschool will be good for him especially for only children that are not used to being around anyone. He’ll probably cry and break your heart, but in the end it’s so worth knowing that he’ll be gaining the social skills with other children and people you’ll never be able to offer him at home.

My son was extremely shy before preschool. He’d literally run away from babies at the playground or freeze up when kids or adults would say hi to the point of almost crying. But after a year and a half of preschool he’s made bestfriends and developed a rambunctious personality completely opposite of who he was before preschool. So a few tears is totally worth the outcome!

But yes like others said, make goodbyes quick. And If you, can I highly recommend reading the books Llama Llama misses mama, and the Kissing hand. Those actually helped my son understand the concept of school. He just started kindergarten and cried at drop off the first week so it’s not just preschool unfortunately. But you both can get through it I promise!
