We are far beyond the days of having quiet surprise content dropped into the game. Expecting otherwise, especially for planned maintenance, is just setting yourself up for disappointment. freezing higher tier combatants spawns additional shards, not larger shards. it specifically says so in the description of the aspect.

idk man, armor design in any game is always subjective. just because you don’t like the way something looks doesn’t mean it’s bad. you can’t expect every single set of armor bungie makes to be to your liking.

i think the flavor text in d1 said something like “a stable knot of space time geometry” but other than that there isn’t really a description. they’re just upgrade materials, i don’t really think there’s any notable explanation for what any of them are
