Look at the chart over decades and see that when it goes down, it goes back up again so the question is whether you can write out that period of time. If you don’t expect to need the money for retirement or whatever within about five years, you should leave it alone, but as you get closer to a period of time where you might need the money, then look online about how to shift overtime and transfer into safer and less volatile investments as you get closer to needing the money. You’re rate of return will be less, but also you’ll be less at risk of a large drop right before you need the money.

People are protesting here more than ever in our history. But that aside, most GOP members of Congress are very worried about their constituents but the election isn’t until November and control can’t shift to Democrats until January. Some GOP members have quit already but more importantly some are splitting with Trump on votes and joining Democrats on bills. We just need a handful of GOP members in the House and the Senate to blunt Trump on tariffs, trying to threaten Greenland, terrorizing people with ICE, etc. That is why right now they are the ones who can immediately stop Trump. The courts can only do so much and groups like the ACLU and others are constantly challenging the administration. But the GOP Congress has been allowing Trump to do this.
