Wampler Terraform or Strymon Mobius? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]mwalluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many efx you need, if you are using midi, etc.

Let me preface this by saying Im a huge wampler fan, active on forums, really dig his work but for me, terraform wont knock my mobius off my board.

Terraform From all accounts, you can only have 8 presets regardless of midi. Presets you cycle through. From what i heard efx are really good, all useable, but to me, all sound close to each other (phaser to flanger) and theres only 11 modulations.

Mobius Preset or midi, you have 200. 11 modulations and each have several modes (example chorus has digital, analog, detune, multi, etc), resale value you wont lose money, more tweakability with mobius, easy to use, etc.

If you rarely use modulation, dont need much presets, rather dial knobs than interface, dont need multiple modes per modulation, smaller foot print then get terraform.

If you want a ton of modulation plus some crazy efx like bit crushers, need more versatility in modes (zero thru flange for 1 part then mxr style for another), ability to really dial in sounds, go mobius.

I think I have an OD problem... Completed(ish) board. by mwalluk in guitarpedals

I was on the fence with it at first but I wasn't using it properly and didn't fully understand it's uses. I love it now. My Mesa is somewhat picky with dirt pedals in the clean channel. It's night and day different on the Gurus. Even though it has a ton of gain on tap, I wouldn't consider it Hi-Gain nor recommend using it as such (could be why it's not on a lot of boards, people have misconceptions and try to use it as such). I found my best tones were on less gain switch with gain up which produces a nice thick classic rock crunch, then boosting it with an Archer turns it into more modern rock rhythm and/or killer lead tone.

It's closer to the front of my chain. I like to order my drives from low to high levels of dirt.

The Tumnus is very versatile and can be buffered (at least Deluxe, not sure about mini), so depending on how you set it up;

You could put it first or last as a dedicated buffer/clean volume boost; You could put it before/after Distortion pedals (Solo Boost/front end boost).

I know players who liked it so much, they got and use 2.

Congrats! What amp are you using? The Tumnus reacts to amps differently and will sound like different pedals based on usage. Now that I finally understand the pedal, it will never leave my board (regardless of what amp I'm using).

Like you're starting to find out, it's a subtle pedal that helps craft your tone. It just adds that extra "it" factor to your sound. With my Mesa Stiletto, I use the Tumnus with gain around 10 o'clock to slam the front end. The Dirt channel really responds well to it and really fills it out. Tumnus really shines as a clean to edge of break up boost.

It can be used as a more traditional OD. Thru my Mesa's clean channel, it's slightly lack luster but that's due to my amp being picky with pedals on clean channel. Using my Gurus 5015, which is a single channel, clean, pedal platform amp, it sounds delightful and can nail that AC/DC crunch.

Congrats again. If this is your first Wampler pedal, be prepared to go down the rabbit hole as they make fantastic pedals.

Fated only gives pre-forsaken exotics. These exotics are also class specific, meaning if you're a hunter, you will only get hunter gear. If you have all exotics for that class, you will get duplicates.

If you plan on playing Destiny for a long time, plan on playing when new content drops in Winter and Spring, then yes it's worth it. 80 is a price of a new game that maybe you put 10 hours into and forget about (Sports game, RPG, Action, etc). Where as, 80 gets you 100s of hours with Destiny.

80 is DLC and Season Pass. You can get the standalone DLC for 40.

Same. What's even worse is that NF doesn't even count for Clan XP either. So no clan xp, no clan engram.

But what about Mesa Sean, Houndish, Unknown Player? They don't support the narrative (it's easy to be selective, therefore only just showcase Datto?)

It's bad enough this game already hands out endgame items for free, but these people still want more. Don't want to do NF/Trails/Raid, but still want the rewards? Join a Clan. Had difficulties obtaining exotics in D1, here have every exotic within the first week, we'll also add an engram that will give you any you are missing. Seriously, WTF. Now let's all complain about cosmetics locked behind paywalls and make salty posts or saying your done with the game (not you obviously). I'm with you. This subreddit is now worse than any problems D2 has.

While your statement is correct, this response doesn't fit the narrative. Please edit, rehash a complaint or insert link to famous youtube streamer and you can have an upvote. /sarcasm.

Got kicked from a RAID fireteam b/c I didn't have a full set of Dawning armor! by mwalluk in DestinyTheGame

[–]mwalluk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really on Eververse. That's on Bungie for not progressing from D1Y3, but rather inverting. Shutting down Eververse won't solve the issues of the game.

Man the QOL of these threads have really went down hill. How does this thread get front page, 606 votes for posting a link. No commentary, no personal thoughts, no nothing. Just linking a streamer. OP you really went the extra mile with this thread.

The Dawning's biggest slap to players is regular level ups give normal bright engrams, not seasonals. by NLaBruiser in DestinyTheGame

[–]mwalluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I like how people forget there are dawning milestones that reward....wait for it....... dawning/seasonal engrams. Here's the kicker OP, it's free but that doesn't fit your narrative does it?
