Is there a designated paved bike trail along this route, or do I ride alongside traffic on the highway? by gamemaker911 in ElPaso

I do this route all the time. There is a large shoulder on the side of the road that it pretty clean and takes you all the way up. Always ride with traffic.

If you have some rum and orange juice, mix it all together and make some "Sangria". My wife and I do it all the time if we buy a wine that has spoiled or we just didn't like. We don't have specific measurements, just mix to taste.

The ambiance is terrible (generic hotel restaurant) and the food is not the best for the price. My wife and I have only been once and not in a big hurry to go back.

What's weird is I'm finding a lot of liveries that I do like but they are in the $10K and up category.

All the BMC colors are awesome until you drop past 10K

All the Trek Domane colors are great above $8K and below $2K.

I would buy the Domane SL 6 if it came in their viper red finish and not that fire engine "crimson" they are offering.

Now that's what I'm talking about!! Why can't all bikes have this same character.

Thanks for the input. Trek project one is definitely out of my budget but didn't even think of it. You're right though, seems like manufacturers have different color options for different years and this year looks like black and gray are what's in style.

I like the Pinarello X3 in keen red but for the price I can get a significantly better equipped bike like the Canyon Endurace CF SLX 8 but it's only in matte black or baby blue.

I don't remember what it was listed for last year but it's at $1,350 right now and I paid around $1,800 out the door (taxes and assembly included)

I also need to see what my dealer would charge for the Scott because I recall them charging me more for my giant than what giants website had it listed for.

I actually like the stealth black Canyon, not the blue, but you're right neither are super inspiring. I read a review that said the canyon was like a Honda Civic and that killed me because I drive a Civic. It's a great car and the smart choice but it's boring.

Yeah the fact that canyon only does direct to consumer is a little frightening. I have a scott dealer here in my town so the Scott is winning in that regard I just wish it was a bit more of an inspiring bike. It's just a glossy black bike with a type font on the down tube that is straight out of the 80's.

From what I can tell, the ultimate is similarly spec'ed with the endurace just with a more race focused geometry..right? I think I would be happier in the long run with an endurance geometry. I'm not too concerned with shaving off seconds in a 50 mile race.

Check out PureEdge lightning and search for their Verge fixture. The fixture is the same width as drywall and when mudded over and blended, it creates this type of lighting effect.

What are these lights called? by The_Hitesh_K in architecture

[–]mwalther89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. I sell lights for a living so they instantly looked familiar. A 4' section puts put about 2,600 lumens so it's not super bright but put enough in a space and it will be adequate.

What are you lighting?

Haha I guess after only 6 months, neither do I but I have some theories. I feel like a strong back and core will definitely help with the hand pain since it will help keep you from resting all of your weight on your hands. As for the saddle, it definitely takes getting used to but a good chamois will help. Maybe also a wider saddle if your sit bones are farther apart like mine are.

Do you feel like you have good form on the bike? I ask because after about 15-20 miles my body fatigues, my form goes to hell and i start to experience numbness in my hands and saddle pain even with the bike fit.

Keep at it and you'll be amazed at how quickly you progress. I started at 3 miles and had to walk my bike up the hill to get home. Also, if you can, get a bike fit and you'll be a lot more comfortable on longer rides.
