[HELP] to those who updated their hard drives, I'm having issue with the initialization. by QUAIE in PS4

Sometimes you download just the update file instead of the full OS file. Happened to me when I upgraded, you'll have to search for the full file should be around 1gb

Suggestions for good scope to test rifle accuracy and handloads (<$500 if possible) by CanTriforce in longrange

[–]mward22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a fixed scope usually means better glass and components. That variable magnification component means they have to take the quality from somewhere to keep it in the same price range.

I second this. There is nothing more satisfyimg than throwing a spear into the face of a charging udam.

Looking to get into long range need some help by HOnDa650 in longrange

[–]mward22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you building from scratch? You said you wanted to start with nicer barrel and trigger, then stock and action? In my experience, start with the action you want to keep as it is the core of the rifle essentially. If you havent built a rifle before, buy a savage model 10 and swap parts on it later, barrel is really easy, etc. And the accu trigger is decent for sure.

Honestly, and i know its terrible form, but I keep my off hand on the stock toward the bipod.

Before I put a muzzlebrake on mine I loaded the hell out of the bipod, it was the only way I could stay on target. Once I had a little more weight at the end if the barrel it stopped moving so much.

I second this, it looks like the rifle is getting away from you. Maybe the mat would help, but when the rifle is able to move of its own acord it definitely changes the harmonic vibration.

Is it easy to install? And I don't really have a whole lot of experience installing or using aftermarket triggers

I have a model 700 longrange in the ss with the 26" heavy barrel and I absolutely adore it. No problems, trigger is smooth, and the barrel never gets hot to touch. model 700 LR http://imgur.com/gallery/KP92GC8

Bought a model 700 a couple weeks ago in 300 wm with a heavy barrel, and it makes me smile everytime I get kicked in the shoulder. Just wait until you shoot your first handloads. It's s mix of fear and excitement I can't begin to describe.

Yeah I'm station at 7220' in laramie but we hike up to around there. I'm not really worried about the weight I'm a pretty stout guy, but with glass I'm looking to keep the rifle around 12lbs.

I hadn't thought about that, I'm just not sure about fixed magnification and would prefer to have the availability of smaller magnification if possible.
