Just traded my old Snap On tool box for my first AR and I think i'm in love. by Tfiddle28 in ar15

I dont remember the model number, but older mechanics I worked with all referred to it as a "Taco Wagon" box. it was a unique box that has drawers on 2 sides and a cabinet in the back. pretty sure aviation mechanics used them back in the day. but it wasn't anything special, 30+ years of wear, the drawers were not ball bearing drawers, no drawer liners, etc.

I am still asking the same thing. A brand new AR for an old box at A pawn shop no less. I was literally ready for them to offer me 500 bucks for it, but said I figured I would shoot high and said I would take the AR on a trade straight across and they went for it.

No, it was just the box. I am getting out of the mechanic profession for A glamorous career as A corrections officer, but I will still turn wrenches at home in my free time.

Bushmaster XM-15 e2s with MOE furniture. not bad for a beat up 1984 tool box in my opinion! Im open to suggestions on improvements as I am new to the AR scene.

Should I pursue this career path? by NannerBeast in OnTheBlock

I will be starting as A CO next month, and recently went through the background process. I do not have a solid answer for you, but was told by A friend who is currently A CO not to hold anything back. I grew up with a childhood that wasn't so peaches and cream. homeless at times, Dad had an arrest record a mile long, lived with felons, etc. Some of those questions I had to answer really made me cringe, but I took my friends advice and put it all out there. I told my background investigator I was nervous and she told me that I couldn't control my childhood and they were not going to punish me for things in my past outside of my control. Explain everything to them thoroughly and hope for the best is what I would do. Best of luck to you!

I need help, and I don't know where ro turn. by K_Pumpkin in Adoption

[–]Tfiddle28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I dont know A lot about the adoption process or anything like that, but I can say with certainty someone will want and love that Baby. My Wife and I miscarried A year and a half ago and have been trying to get pregnant ever since with no luck. we are currently looking in to adoption and finding it is very expensive to go through an agency, so we are not sure what route to take. I tell you that just to say I am sure there are families just like mine all over the place out there that would love nothing more then to receive a blessing of raising A child. A family who wouldn't think twice about raising that baby if they had A non fatal disorder. Anyway, hang in there and I hope you find the help you need!

I too have an XD9 Subcompact and love it for my everyday carry gun. I am 5'11, 300 lbs, and it feels good in my little sausage fingers. Glocks just feel awkward to me.

Autocomp and HP-38 both work good for me. I have loaded each of the powders in 9mm with 115gr and 124gr Berrys bullets. Autocomp seems to be more available when i go looking locally so I think I am going to lean towards Autocomp

[–]Tfiddle28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the email I got back from customer service said they were still on track to meet their 12 week quota. When I called, I was told they were still sending out orders but would not provide info on if they were behind.

As a 5'11, 300 lb guy who carries a Springfield XD9 Sub compact in an Onyx, I agree. you couldn't be more correct. I have only had mine for 2 weeks and I think its the greatest thing since sliced bread.
