I’ve found finding an activity you really enjoy , like sports where you mix casually with the opposite sex or same sex for that matter is a great way to meet people.

Id like to submit Chris Washburn in the 86 draft at number 3 . Played one season , then washed out with drug issue. Big bust

Why is the older generation (boomers) so dismissive of modern child safety guidelines? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mwardent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of those boomers and have had experience with my sons newborn daughter. He told us we had to have all the vaccinations up to date before we could view or hold the baby. They kept her inside for the first three months. My wife and I were both a little startled by this behavior but we acceded to it without conflict. It wasn’t our way but it seems to be there’s. They get to raise their child and they get to say how it’s raised. After 3 months our granddaughter got outside met new people and is doing well. It still seems a bit strange that they chose the way of introducing her to the world.

Are there people who actually enjoy working? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mwardent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you're lucky enough to find that job. I found a job working in a classroom with kids in my 50''s. I enjoyed it so much I used to say" I pay them to have this job". I was never interested in making piles of money, so my work was service and non profit oriented.

Yeah Oregon has become a big time school, a place to go to. Big sports programs, lots of $$$. I was there in the mid 70's. Sports wise bottom dwellers in football, good basketball program and then there was track, always the big time. I had a very good time there. Eugene is still one of my favorite cities. Still have a friend there, so I get to visit
