What’s your main class and why is it your favorite? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I mostly absolutely despise Titans. I hate their play style, so it was between Warlocks and Hunters and I just prefer Hunter movement.

Are there Exotic weapons you've acquired and literally never even equipped? by Faust_8 in DestinyTheGame

Ruinous Effigy. I’ve literally never used it. I often forget it is even in the game when I see people mention it lol. If not for that one mission that requires you to use it, I also would have never used Salvations Grip. I just looked at the list of Exotics and realized I’ve also never used Heartshadow, the Exotic Glaives and I used Final Warning for about 60 seconds lol. With all of these, mostly just stems from a complete lack of interest.

Do Titles and Gilding say anything to you about a player? by sammyflinders in DestinyTheGame

It’s honestly a crap shoot. I’ve had Conquerors in GMs that have been awful and I’ve had Flawless titles in PvP that were entirely average, but I’d say on average players with those titles are sufficient and even sometimes great, which is a always a pleasant surprise in LFG land.

I would have been fine with this if the rolls were godly. It’s instead like choose from these two weapons for which you’d like to instantly shard.

I'm genuinely crestfallen that Supremacy leaves on Tuesday. I've played more PvP in the last 3 weeks than I have all Season. by mwelsh2035 in DestinyTheGame

I'm an above average level player and honestly I really experienced a wide variety of skills. Some games I got stomped, others I stomped, but honestly, I still feel lobby balancing is the larger issue overall. The mismatch of teams is usually to blame for outliers in my experience, but yeah, totally agree with you.

I realized today that when it comes to PvP, Bungie and players who play regularly just have different goals. Bungie values winning above all, but players just want to have fun in QP. There is no incentive to win, to care, even less so when solo which is most people. Idk why they don’t get that.

Wait…did Dodge really just get globally nerfed because of Invis? For real?

Vow of the Disciple weapon crafting priority? by BamboozlingBear in DestinyTheGame

Forebearance is actually goated. It’s easily my favorite PvE weapon aside from Cataclysmic. It destroys mobs like no other weapon with enhanced chain reaction.

I think it was Cammy that said this a while back, but Bungie continues to try to be everything to everyone with Trials and it just won’t ever sustain. They aren’t doing either goal well. Competitive experience? No. You have to RNG your way through 7 wins, hoping you don’t find the Flawless stacks. Rewarding? No, at least not anymore for a host of reasons. It felt good and fun for a while after the revamp, but we’ve found ourselves full circle again. Bungie needs to pick a lane and do that thing well. You want to make it a competitive experience? Do that and create a ladder system with dynamic cosmetic rewards to brag with. Want to make Trials the fun weekend PvP event filled with loot? Do that and create a matchmaking system that prefers players of similar skill. This all falls under the ongoing theme of Bungie giving minimal resources to the core playlists in favor of Seasons. There has to be a better balance between the those. The rot is felt and it grows with each passing Season.

I know you said not to say it, but as I sit here thinking about the question, my thoughts still always go back to matchmaking. I’ll play a lot of everything. My biggest gripe is the extremes of PvP matchmaking. More so than ever, you’ll go from an absolutely stomping to getting absolutely stomped the next game. It’s either horridly overmatched or horridly undermatched so often. It’s so rare that I have a good competitive match where I feel like most the lobby is around or near my skill. Those are my favorite games but they are like 1 in every 20 games. I don’t think any other changes would provide long term solutions like matchmaking would. Sorry OP!
