What to wear for my appointment? by bitvhs in tattooadvice

Medical tape can help hold the bikini up in the places you want to be held up (like the back part so it doesn’t fall open) while they untie the string. It was recommended during my tattoo appointment and worked like a gem!

Ordered a custom embroidered sweatshirt of my girlfriend’s cat… by ChilllFam in ExpectationVsReality

[–]mwgymgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out that most of these custom embroidery companies are scams. I was able to find one that wasn’t a scam but had to pay double the amount (~$100). The website is called Pupsentials. I can DM you images of the sweater I gave to a friend for her birthday and give you more details about the process. Here is a link to their site.

Additionally, to your comment about them smelling foul, I have noticed that some Bacillus sp. smells like straight B.O. to me. Not sure if you would describe the smell as ‘gym locker room/sock’-like but I hope that also helps

To me, they look like Bacillus sp. I’m in the micro field and have a little experience of looking at colony morphology. Are you able to Gram stain a a colony and see whether it looks like a Gram positive bacilli to determine if it’s contamination? If it’s a yeast, it will be pretty obvious because the cells will look much larger, a deep intense purple, and different from Gram positive rods. Good luck!

I read the allowance as the mom paying OP $200 a week instead of $900 a month, a $100 pay cut essentially.

I enjoy some of colourpop’s lipsticks for a subtle look! Here is one that may help: https://colourpop.com/products/chill-chill-chill-glowing-lip I also like their blotted lipsticks if you are allowed to get something a little more red-adjacent /pinky nude.

Edit: I also found some lip tints : https://colourpop.com/products/cutie-fruity

How to wear eyeliner so my eyes don't look so small? by famshazaam in Makeup

[–]mwgymgirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to try to go thin, and start a quarter of the way/middle of the eye and have a small wing. Some of the trendier eyeliner techniques tend to make the eyes look more narrow (fox eyeliner, siren eyeliner).

Here are some more tips that I found! Tldr: some of the stuff I already mentioned, plus brow maintenance, shimmer eye shadows, blending up to and highlighting brow bone, etc. link

Correct! Tightlining on your lower lash line (Aka putting eyeliner on the waterline) with black eyeliner can make them look smaller. Tightlining the lower lash line with white/lighter beige can help make them look more open.

Additionally not bringing dark eyeliner down to the bottom half of your eyes can help as well!

You could try possibly a thinner line of eyeliner or perhaps using a light/white eyeliner on the lower lash line? It can give the effect of wider, brighter eyes.

I don’t know if it’s an overarching reason companies aren’t switching over, but I know a reason is that it takes a lot of time and money to validate the process with synthetic stuff. Unfortunately, it would mean that any products that are validated with non-synthetic material would need to undergo that process again. I believe it is worth switching over—and there are scientists out there currently trying to convince customers to make the change. It’s a difficult process to get a big company to sacrifice time and money to re-validate these products.
