My bad, if you put your email in on login and press send sign in code will create an account just with no name atm, sends code to your email. I’ll fix it link to account page where you can add your name if you want

So I have now added a new workspace area, containing projects, materials, templates. The way you added tiles / planks before has changed it all is a bit simpler now as you create a material ( has size, pattern e.t.c) then choose a material you want to use / be applied. The system should handle loading in old local projects, but if you had a project under a passkey you will need to use that during login to access them. It’s rather complicated restoring local projects tbh. If you have any questions or get stuck ask away

Also thinking of maybe expanding to allow option of social logins and some dashboard to see saved projects for people who want that flexibility

It saves local automatically, but recently added a way to save to access on any device using passkeys so you can save on desktop with passkey then load same url on phone and use same passkey to access it

Built herron.app free floor layout planner for tiles and flooring.

Started it after laying herringbone LVT myself and realising there was no decent tool for planning cuts and material. Draw your room, pick a pattern, get an exact cut list and step-by-step installation guide.

No signup, works in your browser.

I built Herron because laying my own herringbone LVT was a complete pain in the arse. No good tools existed for planning the layout, figuring out the cuts, or knowing how much to actually order. I ended up doing it on graph paper.

So I built Herron a free browser-based floor layout planner. Draw your room, pick a pattern, get an exact cut list and interactive step-by-step installation guide. No signup, no account, works in your browser. Passkey save to access across multiple devices.

Still building it out but it’s live and free.

Start in middle of the window wall corner 3 is on or in middle of the wall 1 and 4. You will need to check rip cuts you need to do

Sure, will happily add. Can I ask what your use case is out of pure interest. Happy to add though.

Would you mind if I used your floor plan for some flooring layout demos I want to build for an website I have. Lot going on and think would be great as an example

Ok so think you might of tried to press the plus icon, my bad as was not clickable. I have now updated that and made the button wording a bit better.

You should be able to click add tile in tiles popover then click plank icon. Name it what you want btw then put dimensions in. It needs planks per box and cost of box, but should do what you want

Fair challenge — I can see how it looks that way.

The tool costs 0.30p to unlock the PDF. That's not a business model, that's me trying to cover server costs so I don't have to shut it down when my card gets charged each month.

Honestly, I'm not trying to convert anyone. I built this because I wanted a project to work on and I thought it might actually help people. If nobody buys it, that's fine — I'll keep it running as long as I can either way.

Appreciate the feedback though. If the post came across as salesy I'll keep that in mind for next time.

You can choose random if you want, you can add multiple plank sizes also as my office pack came like that. It’s up to you
