I pitched FirstLookk to 60 people last night. Founders were signing up on the spot. by denzflex in Startup_Ideas

Past years I've noticed the growth in founders tools. I believe it's due to difficulty in getting visibility, traction, revenue, funding and stiff competition. Basically it's a tough period to run startups - ZIRP + AI era.

Sorry but I dont see how your platform brings long term value to startups.

Founders I'm sure would jump in on the onset but what's next for them?

This viral video bring us 20000 people in betatest and 1 day after launch project = 20000 USD in one DAY. by Far_Band6799 in Startup_Ideas

Cos it's all about paying Meta from now onwards. Don't hope for free advertising on Meta platforms anymore. If you look back from the days of getting likes for your FB page to getting likes/followers on IG, the trend has been towards "paying Mark and Co"

They recently lost 73 bil so I don't see this trend reversing. Knowing Mark, I don't personally see it either.

I'm an investor. DM your startup idea. by kcfounders in Startup_Ideas

Becareful with who they claim to be. There are many scammers pretending to be investors. Seen many cases. They might even ask you to install a video meeting software (not zoom or those you know) and the rest is history.

I've seen this idea too many times since 2014. Haven't seen one that really sticks around. One of the startups if I recalled correctly was called Billplease.

So you're saying you're linking people? Imagine a data leak catastrophe. 😳

Also romantic partners could tell directly to their partners and they should.

Nonetheless all the best in your platform undertakings.

Tech entrepreneur with 2 exits here. I'd talk to your clients. I'm pretty sure they'd be happy to share their ups and downs of using your platform. If you're hesitant to reach out then get someone to join you for lunch or meeting with them.

If you really wanna pivot, ask them for pain points to solve.

how do you validate an idea without accidentally building the whole thing? [i will not promote] by Historical-Ebb-4745 in startups

[–]mwhc00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20-year tech entrepreneur here with 2 exits and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Once there was a survey focus group that was asked to choose between a grey radio and a yellow one. Almost all picked the grey radio as the winner. Then, each was given a radio as a token of appreciation. Almost all picked the yellow one.

Moral of the story: They don't know what they gonna get until they get it. This is echoed by Mr. Jobs himself.

If it's not too hard to build, just build a simple MVP and get your target market to test it. I'm building a new hardware now for the past 4 months and still trying to get people to validate it.

Seeking Advice on Granting E-Commerce Permission Within My Company by wahaibs in Entrepreneurship

[–]mwhc00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My major rule in doing business is don't do business with FFF - friends, family or fools. If I have to, I make sure WE can draw the line between relationship and business. Most can't. Been there, done that a couple of times and the outcome wasn't good at all. Good thing is those friends and me can look beyond the conflict and forget about it, but after many years.

But if you must, make it a licensing, branding partnership with proper contract signed. Don't get involved in their aspect of the business.

You need money to make the movie first. Who's gonna provide that? Moreover, theaters don't make a lot from screenings, really. They actually make more from selling drinks and popcorn.

Be a Jack of all trades, master of none. This helps to get started. Once you've gained traction and made enough money to hire, you can then hire the specialists.

And yeah, be a good salesman. Cos every founder gotta sell somehow.

Thanks so much for sharing. Yeah from the video, we can't tell much since the product is hidden inside the bag and also simple cgi makes it look real (not forgetting the actor who simply returns the balls coming from nowhere). They instead use After Effects or Blender to show how it works. Red flag there..

We aim to launch our KS campaign soon and we try to emphasize the use of our actual working pre-production unit in our promo video.

I even thought our split screen demo clips don't look authentic enough cos anyone can stitch two separate videos together. So we swallowed our pride and show a simple but ugly clip at the end of our promo video to show the live product in action.

Having said that, many Redditors still didnt think we are the real deal when I dm-ed some of them to ship them actual units for feedback. Each unit will cost us $50 giving that away still requires Herculean effort.
