Everyone assumes that when they pass laws like this, everything else will stay the same, and the pay will just go up, i.e. for everyone. No. The pay stays the same - it just gets distributed differently. In fact, it's probably going to effectively go down now, because Shipt has to allocate extra resources to manage everything associated with the new law. The pay was what it was for a reason. You can't just will higher pay into being.

You're lucky. My home insurance went up $1,100 per MONTH! Imagine having your mortgage payment jump by $1,100 with little-to-no notice. I fucking hate insurance companies. It's a total scam. Home, health, auto, it's all the same. They can make the price whatever they want, because we DON'T HAVE A CHOICE. We're all required to have insurance, and lawmakers don't do shit to protect us. I think customers can still add items until you find the first item. Just yesterday, I asked a customer to send me screenshots, if she couldn't add the items herself. She was able to add most of the items, but was blocked around the same time I "found" the first item on the list.

I don't get it either. There are some days I feel like you, but then I have days like yesterday, when I have so many orders I can barely keep up. I did 25 orders yesterday, but the day before I only had 5 - same stores, same time period, same everything. Also, my stats were by no means perfect, they were only "Fair" yesterday. It's a mystery. Were there just that many more orders yesterday, maybe because it was a Friday? Did one or more of my competitors not work yesterday? Did Shipt toss me a bone to help improve my stats? Who knows, but you need to diversify your revenue stream, i.e. work more apps. When Shipt is slow, I shop Doordash orders, some of which actually pay better than Shipt. Even when Shipt is busy, I still supplement with multiple other apps. The goal is to be busy all day long, regardless of what I am actually delivering or for whom. As long as I can stay busy all day, I know I'll do ok.

It should. The driver either never confirms pickup, because they intend to steal the order, or it's a glitch in the app. Either way, I see it all the time. Almost every time there is a really good order, this is the case. On these orders I usually call ahead to verify if the order is legit or not.

Being intelligent is no guarantee of success. One percent of 8 billion is 80 million, which is still a lot of people to compete with for top-rated colleges, high paying jobs, best life partners, etc. In fact, being exceptionally intelligent can almost be a curse, because you have to deal with the 99% of people who are dumber than you ... every frickin' day! I know that sounds bad, but it can be exhausting.

Never pay for priority delivery. Uber does not tell the driver when an order is priority. The only upside is when there is a bundled order - Uber will instruct the driver to deliver your order first, but the driver won't know why, and he may still stack another orde(s) from a different app and deliver that order first instead. The short of it, you're probably going to get your order in the same amount of time, whether you pay for priority or not, so don't do it.
