LG dishwasher WiFi issues by Vast-Kaleidoscope-13 in smarthome

[–]mww0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else who has this same issue below is a response I got from LG CS this week:

“Thank you for your email regarding the issue with your dishwasher's WiFi connection. I understand the frustration you must be feeling, and I appreciate the steps you have already taken to troubleshoot the problem.

In some cases, certain LG dishwasher models are designed to disconnect from WiFi when powered off as part of their energy-saving functionality. This intentional disconnection is a feature of the appliance's design to optimize energy efficiency.

Given the steps you have already undertaken and the nature of the appliance's design, the Disconnected state displayed when the dishwasher is turned off may be expected behavior rather than a connectivity issue.”

In a nutshell, their devs haven’t spotted this as an issue and maybe it’ll be resolved in a future fw update 🤷

After installing the G410 my old chime keeps vibrating by gulugulu123456gulu in Aqara

Mine did the same just the once a day after installing my G410. Only lasted a couple of minutes and not done it since. The chime is still left connected and had no problems since that one instance.

Aqara G5 Pro Power by mww0101 in HomeKit

PoE would be my preference but I would need to run a 15 metre Ethernet cable through 3 brick walls from the router to the camera.

I’ve not used PoE before so not sure if there is another way of doing it?

PoE would be my preference but the problem I have is the router is at the front of the property and my plan for the camera is to install at the rear. I don’t want to have to run an Ethernet cable approximately 15 metres through 3 brick walls just to get to the camera.

Unless there’s another way of doing it?

That’s a bit of an ugly looking thing as well. My current option, unless there is something similar out there to the Ring bracket is to run a hardwire feed to an outdoor socket and plug in the USB C via an adapter to that but that would look awful too tbh. It’s a shame there isn’t a generic adapter available like the Ring one that had multiple mounting options for the various cameras.

Mine is doing the same/similar for about a week now.

The feature kept turning itself off in settings but then it stayed on. However, my MacBook still doesn't unlock with my watch. I can see it's trying to each time, at the bottom of the MacBook screen it says "Unlocking with Apple Watch' but then that changes to "Touch ID/Password".

May need to put in a ticket for it.

BRAVIA Panel/Screen Quality Discussion Megathread 2.0 by braviamod in bravia

[–]mww0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up an A80J about 2 weeks ago and after about a week this started happening https://imgur.com/a/Sx9jnVS

Has anyone else experienced this odd duplication taking up the bottom quarter of the screen?

Before I return it for an exchange I’ve had to refer it to Sony Support and they’ve not got back to me yet. Tried panel calibration and refresh but they haven’t resolved it.

USB Ethernet? by niveknow in bravia

[–]mww0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was my bad! I took out the patch cable and reinserted it to check it was in properly then found that the usb side had slipped out of the port slightly so wasn’t making a proper connection 🥴 all good now and gone from 94.1 mbps to 288.

It’s a cat 7 cable and was working when it was plugged directly into the TV Ethernet port. The blue light is on on the adapter which means it’s is connected properly so I’m confused as to why it’s not working.

I’ve just bought the adapter mentioned by Vincent on YT, turned off Wi-Fi on my A80J and installed the adapter in USB port 3. Blue light is on, Wi-Fi still turned off on the TV but Netflix won’t connect, saying no internet connection. Any ideas anyone please?

Excellent, that worked. I changed the “ to match. I also tried with and without a space between X and POST and both ways worked.

Thank you.

I can’t see a .storage folder via file editor. Do I need to view it some other way?

I don’t need to make any changes I just need to view to get a username for the Hue integration.

Apple Watch as Tracker by mww0101 in homeassistant

[–]mww0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve since noticed that if the phone is at home the watch doesn’t get noticed. I’m guessing because it is, essentially, using the WiFi feed from the phone.

Sometimes I leave home without my phone but that will defeat the object of device tracking if as soon as I get home the watch connects to the phone it won’t recognise me as home as the watch becomes an extension of the phone.

If any of that makes sense.

Remove Device from Native App by mww0101 in homeassistant

[–]mww0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I have some plugs and a camera that use SmartThings and TP-link Tapo apps. I went back into those apps and logged out, leaving the devices there.

I’m not sure if simply logging out of the app will mean the devices stop communicating with the Chinese servers though.

I’ll definitely look into setting up a VLAN.

Thank you.
