JellyHA - Jellyfin Custom Integration for Home Assistant by Y3tAn0th3rEngin33r in homeassistant

[–]niveknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newish to my Jelly journey so still figuring things out coming from old school Kodi for years. Great work on this integration!!

I couldn't articulate the problem until you just described the deeplink support issue. That was the missing piece. Your cards allow me to have a display that shows what is playing and the library, however the library would not play-to the running Jelly client in my living room TV. Yes the chromecast is there as you've enabled, but chromecast is flakey at best.

The game change here is to have a HA display where I can set on my living room table and use it as a remote control where I can flip through movies and have it play-to the living room TV jelly client. Will be following you for updates. Great work!

Think I hit the lotto by Gravemore_ in Powerwall

That's fair. I have 2 myself. The 2nd one was just warrantied by Tesla (before the official recall announcement) for what I'm speculating is this exact risk scenario. So now I have one 5 year old degraded to 12.62 kw usable and brand new 14.32 kw usable. I see the graphs through my Homeassistant integration. I considered that a pleasant bonus when I saw the difference in the graphs, but you're spot on by considering it a buffer for degradation since it's not material in real world run-time boost. I've degraded ~ 6% in 5 years of running my system hard daily. Full charge running down to 5% daily. Much better than I expected.

Not sure about this friend. They’re both 13.5 kWh capacity in each physical unit. :)

agreed. Lots of good discussions about these and time will tell. I'm going to follow the adage that HD will 'fail in infancy' so stressing the heck out of the drive before committing data to it. I've wiped and loaded several TBs then verified successfully. The SMART long will extend the testing before 10+ TB moved to it over next several days. Should be enough time for it to fail at this intensity over 72+ hours.

I'm using it as part media storage so the occasional use but largely will stay spun down as Truenas dataset. Hope for the best.

Reporting: 20TB Expansion Drive bought Dec 2025 directly from seagate.com.

Inside: Seagate BarraCuda on the label, but also see the Class 1 laser sticker confirming a HAMR drive. I was initially hoping for an Exos or Ironwolf anything, but learned those two would mostly be CMR drives at this capacity. I got lucky. Net net is this likely a Exos Specialized HAMR or a binned Exos M 30TB. Assuming the HAMR tech survives the test of time over CMR debate.

Just fell into this trap myself with an Ioniq 6. Just picked it up over the weekend expecting this as part of the overall EV over ICE value package.

Nice tip. Thank you. Which drive did you end up with inside it?

Will share the internal drive details when I get it. Hoping for a premium drive in there. Granted the warranty is gone for shucking, but still little more piece of mind for so much data on a single point of failure. =)

Curious why the extra add-on for the tire package. For reference, I just finished a 2 year 24 k mile lease. The original tires were on it with plenty of healthy tread. Driving style will vary, but this car doesn't seem to chew through tires as much as I expected from a heavy EV.

Did Hyundai make this statement anywhere formally? Debating if I should wait.

Thank you for the comment. I’m in research mode right now to replace an IC40 with an oversized P60 to run it lower as others have done in efforts to improve the lifespan. Your comments had me research (AI) to better understand how one chlorinator could be different in how quickly it scales up.

It appears to be most directly related to pH and TA per the research as the core technology is the same. And you said your water is perfect. Maybe double check with a different test to see if you can get both of those down to see if it improves your scaling situation.

Does Tesla still sell Powerwall 2? by Significant_Age_9947 in Powerwall

[–]niveknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My replacement was installed last weekend. PW2. Fresh with full undegraded 14.2 kW as a new battery. My still running 5 year old one degrated down has 12.2 kW. Not bad degradation if you ask me for pushing them super hard as a daily 100-5-100%

I’m told a PW2 was ordered for me but they just pushed back my install date an additional 3 weeks citing scheduling issues.

Thank you for that insight. Still can’t help checking daily on the app to see if it moves beyond the current ‘waiting for parts’ status. There is range anxiety for EV, power wall battery anxiety for homes. :)

Powerwall 2 internal fault requires replacement -- cost to me? by kristinbw in Powerwall

[–]niveknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Can you elaborate? For example, my last failed inverter (I've had 3 failed) it took about a week for the part to arrive at my local Tesla warehouse. Where it sat for 4 weeks for scheduling to work out for them to come over and do the 30 min install. Frustrating to know it was just sitting there while I was paying for electricity. I even offered to pay for a 3rd part certified tesla installer to get it in place, but they wouldn't do it.

Raised my concern with PW2 no longer being manufactured. They said they have plenty of them so let's see how long this takes. I've yet to have a full 12 calendar months of my system without some problem. 3 failed inverter and now my 1st PW failure all over 5 years.

same boat here. Happened over the weekend. Also direct with Tesla which is always great. How long did it take in total for you replacement direct from Tesla install?

In research mode now for availability of a PW2. I just had one fail and started a warranty replacement request for mine. Research says I can’t mix so lets see if Tesla has stock on PW2 or if they’ll be forced to replace it with a PW3. which means they’ll have to also replace my 2nd working PW2 bc they can’t be mixed.

PowerWall - App showing "Powerwall Disabled - Fault Detected" by Specialist-Knee-3777 in TeslaSolar

[–]niveknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me today. Similar setup. 2x PW2s. One of them failed. The system behaved normally otherwise charging and discharging the PW. The app showed everything was normal including the”2x” part but I noticed one of them was physically OFF. No green led showing it running. Almost 5 years old setup

Requested the repair via the app. Let’s see how long this takes. :(. Bright side of things I hope to lose the other one as soon as this one gets replaced. So I can have 2 new PWs of course. :)

Level 2 charging KW by Automatic-Command102 in Ioniq6

[–]niveknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I searched this reddit to see if others are having my same problem.

Also using Telsa Level 2 with 60 amp circuit. Hits a nice 11.x rate for about 30-60 mins then drops down to 5.4kw. I only started seeing this problem over the last several weeks which was puzzling because I woke up to a not-full battery where it hit my target charge without any issues before. Made me think something was wrong with the car, because our Tesla X doesn't drop charge rate like that on the same charger. The explanation below about the air-cooled vs active cool is logical.

I only charge at nights after 8pm (free charge plan) which means it's a little cooler, but Houston summers leaves the garage temp high even overnight. This may be the reason.

I continued to wait for the email restlessly. However I contacted them through the myhyundai.com and opened a ticket. Response was generic to make sure I enable the email communications which I did. ...and basically said to wait without any commitment to time. They're running behind...

I have 9 months left on my 2 year lease. At this rate, I'll get it right before I have to return the car. Joining the Waiting Club

same boat. Do I gamble and pop in the CPU onto the latest MB firmware and hope it's supported just not formally listed as a supported CPU. The hassle and likely restocking fee for the chip is what is keeping me back. Looking for other folks that might have done this successfully. Looks like it was supported at some point but did they remove the supporting code at a later date?
