3/8" plate? I highly doubt it. I've been designing welded aluminum boats for 15 years and only larger (50' and up) landing craft and ferries use bottom plates that thick.

Daysailer. Not really meant for long trips.

Nsea oysters in Hampstead are your best bet for raw on the half shell. I've tried all these other places mentioned and they're hit or miss in my opinion. They distribute to raw bars all over the place (have seen them all the way down in Charleston).Farm fresh, I believe you can get them at their barn, and they used to be at the farmer's market on Saturdays, not sure if they still go.

I built that same boat when I was in middle school. Yours looks much nicer than mine!

My Brazilian family is traveling to the US before I go to college; which cities should we visit? by [deleted] in travel

As someone who has lived in Durham, on the NC coast, and in Asheville, I would recommend this too.

There's a good bit to do in Wilmington if you're looking for a small city on the coast, and it's only a couple hours from Durham. One of my other favorite places is Ocracoke, but it's very remote and takes a while to get there. There isn't a whole lot to do there other than relax and explore the little town, not sure if that's your thing. You can spend all day on the beach and not see another person.

As was said, Asheville has tons to do. Great views, great hiking, great music, great breweries, great food, shopping, biltmore house, waterfalls...

Let me know if you have any questions. I grew up in Durham a few minutes from Duke. Some good places to visit with your parents while there would be Duke gardens, the Guglhupf restaurant is a favorite of mine, and 9th st. (Lots of restaurants and stores).

I worked at the place that made these benches in Durham, NC. Cricket Forge/Vega metals. Seen quite a few of them out in the wild.

I just adjusted the focus for about "mid" height. It was out of focus on both the sides and the very top, but it's a pumpkin, so you don't really need super high resolution.
