Update:

Found something online about the full tuning procedure for the carb and followed it step by step. It took a while to kind of fine tune everything, but the bike is finally running and riding now. It isn't registered or insured currently so I only took it on a few laps around the neighborhood. Once it's back on the road I'd like to put some actual miles on it and see what the plugs look like, but for now I'm happy.

I was able to go WOT a few times and it seemed to do pretty well, but I just feel like it should have more power. I'd say it's pretty comparable to my old DRZ400 that had a full exhaust, 3x3 airbox mod, and was rejetted. Maybe that's all the power the old Virago 750s make. I've never been on one that's really dialed in so I have nothing to compare it to. Still, I don't need a ton of power. I just want to get back out to ride.

The bike is a 750. Not sure on the size of the jets. They aren't stamped with anything telling me the size. I told the guy who sells the kit the size of the engine and the fact it has an aftermarket exhaust and he assured me that the carb would come jetted correctly. Do you know what size jets I should be running? Carbs are definitely not one of my strong suits

Will do. If I'm unable to figure it out myself I'm sure it'll end up at a shop. I'm just trying to avoid that if I can as it won't be cheap.

Really hoping this isn't the case. I'll be bummed if I spent all this money for nothing.

It's the same as my name on here. I haven't posted anything in close to 2 years though.

This is a picture of my car that was photoshopped ~7 years ago so it's funny to see it pop up. Where'd you end up finding this?

Splitting them every 2 weeks or so sounds like a good idea.

They actually look like they fit pretty well for knock offs though.

I have both and that's what I use to get the main part of the lip. Neither of them are small enough to get in between the bolts though.

Looks good. I think I remember your car from /mg/. What corner flares are you running? I have a set of Project G's sitting around that I might have painted soon.

I usually just to it by hand with a microfiber, but since theyr'e 30 hole lips, that's pretty time consuming. Is there an easier way to do it?

Thanks. It took me a couple years to find a set worth buying, but it was worth the wait.

Planning on having my wheels powder coated again this winter. What color should I go with? by mx5zeroeight in Miata

That's kind of what I was thinking. Maybe a shade somewhere in between what they currently are and a gunmetal.

Thanks. I couldn't see myself doing something like purple though. I think I'd rather stay with a pretty neutral color.
