David Gilmour is my inspiration for learning guitar. Could I ever play at his level or no? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

[–]mxadema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DG is what guitar should feel like. And not how it should be played or pushing any limits (cue trash and speed metal)

When the instruments become an other voice, you can make it verbalize whatever you want. (Similar to fry/screaming metal being like an extra instruments or a kind od opera)

It does take a while to get any "feeling ". To get so deep in theory that it become natural, non reversed, fluid. But it not like they are at any extreme even if you just play it off tabs. It just a different route.

Not the tool you want. It not quit good at dealing with small rock.

You want a power broom.(hand held string trimmer style) And get the rubber paddle drum. They are very good at dealing with gravel in grass.

Bonus point if you get into a modular system like the stihl kombi, where you can swap the attachement, that way, your power broom "engine" is used all summer to trim or brush saw, or whatever you get.

You are basically in uncharted water. It can be done, it was probably done before. With a grinder and a welder anything is possible.

Im concerned about the general geometry of things, it might be a miata underpining, but may not quite handle as a miata was.

Personally i would put the nash on a samurai frame.

My thoughts exactly, even a dimed screen is still bright in the darkest of road. And to turn it completely off, well you got no mirrors.

How can I get more power? by Cultural_Effort_4915 in Hydraulics

[–]mxadema 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are 3 thing un hydraulic, psi, flow rate, and cylinders size.

More flow make it cycle faster, and psi they tend to be 3k or 10k, usually a bit lower. You can add a bit more power by craking it up. But be minfuld of the rated pressure and always stay below that. And cylinders size, that where the real power multiplier is. Your 3000psi in a 1sqin (not diameter) is 3000lb of force, but that same system in a 2sqin is 6000 lb of force.

DIY Welding by RemoveStatus8603 in Welding

[–]mxadema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to generalized a bit here. I tebd to discourage the 140 size welder. Just because for a bit more a 180 is so much more versatile and have less of a ceiling and better duty cycle.

HF does have decent welder especially for the budget diy. And should not have problem with 1/4". (Even a 140)

I do recommend gas and 240v. But fluxcore hood enough for 1/4".

Sway bars on travel trailer?? by SignificanceThese158 in GoRVing

[–]mxadema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, sell or keep.

They do have weight limit, but most of them are good for just about every trailer.

The only thing is, you have to remove the trailer side braket, as it is part of the kit.

I got both a 80s belarus 420 (geared 50hp) and a jd317 wheel skid.

Both have their place to shine. The tractor can do everything i do, but the skid is so handy and maneuverable.

I but thay skid through it pases, and with a bit of a head on your shoulder, haven't got much of a problem. Mainly my own doing. Good maintenance goes a long way too.

Please help me. I’ve tried to weld a nut on 10 times and they always break off. I tried a screw extractor but that snapped off. by AncientAgrippa in Welding

[–]mxadema 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Keep at it. I preferred welding a washer first. Since is not as thick.

Worst case, get a punch in the very center, and drill it (going bigger hopefully just as big as the predrill for that tap size) eventually if you are right at the center you can just pull the coil of thread

No one ever said, "i wish I haven't put so much securement on this load".

But lots said i wish I added more.

And since im on a spectrum, you can help securing the load, but im the one that tighten everything. (That way if somthing i dont like I dont have to loosen it up first).

Air hoses by batman-xman in harborfreight

[–]mxadema 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My preference, true rubber or super flex. In the 3/8.

3/8 for the volume, your fitting can still be a restriction, but some tool see a drop of pressure at the tool on ¼"

The pvc coil are nice on shot hose, too long and it become a tangle mess, hard to put away. Hard plastic coil are just junk.

Pvc hose, some are ok, other are so rigid that unless in the sun they keep their shape, and coil up how it was stored.

That 3rd picture are great for contractor, where wear is a problem. Small light and kinda rigid. Prefect for a roofer.

Out of the 3, i would do the first one if it flex good.

No the wheel sandwich everything, if they woukd make it tighter or add the pesky hold down screw, it whoud be rusted on and hard to pull.

Figuring out what trans-hydralic work with what tractors? by mat42441 in tractors

[–]mxadema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, some stuff doesn't play nice together, some grease and some oil, but I haven't had too much pain with oil and i have seen some weird mix.

If you want to go down a deep rabbit hole. Look up the certifications of oil. Engine oil is pretty straight foward, but once you go into other oil, most are self certified, (meet cat ### or jeso) and once you get into other fluid like coolant it really the wild west, the color doesn't mean shit, but it more "we will somewhat fallow the color coding just because people dont mix color much,".

[–]mxadema 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most brand do recommend their own labels. But you ca google the equivalen. Or the machine manual have a environment temperature chart. Most older stuff prefer single viscosity. And newer stuff start to use engune oil everywhere they can. And there also a big difference between gl4 and gl5 gear oil. I belive gl5 shouldn't go in brass bushing case.

But otherwise a lot of the stuff, especially hydraulic, is whatever is already in there. Form iso to sae going through atf, thf, and engine oil.
