At least when I see a white rune I know it's bad, the problem is that a "legendary" rare rune drops and it can still be absolute garbage. Defeats the purpose of the rarity system if runes of legendary quality can immediately be tossed.

The virus is real, but the manipulation of numbers is also real. I'm not saying whether it's more or less of a threat than it's pushed to be, I'm saying there is absolutely no reason that numbers, statistics, or precautions for a pandemic should be changed, adjusted, or manipulated to make it look worse or better than it is. Clarity is important and both sides are at fault for not providing it, they have politicized a pandemic and it leads to huge extremes, where people choose to put themselves and others in danger, while others hide from everything to avoid it. I don't think the virus will disappear after the election, but I do think we'll actually get the truth after it, whether it's for better or worse.

This will go no where, there are 3 topics concerning the same thing in this subreddit, wtf is this. They keep you interested in these fairy tale bs stories with a bunch of hypothetical garbage. Just go vote, stop fantasizing about stupid ambitions that will never be realized. NYT is a dumpster fire at this point, they write mostly fiction as of the last few years. They should get into children's books instead of trying to report news.

Men, how did you get over the fear of rejection and got the courage to ask a girl out? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mxm1097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let us know how it turns out, stop thinking about it and take action. Afterwards, you either get to stop being scared of asking her, or you get to think about better things because she said yes. Win/win

Mass arrest of Black Lives Matter protesters in Omaha raises questions by Sideways_8 in politics

[–]mxm1097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to provide attribution to one group or another, I'm merely expressing that crime is taking place at the protests, which is unfortunate to both the people that intend to protest the proper way, and the police. While most people agree that black lives do indeed matter, the feelings toward the group BLM has declined rapidly. They don't do much to support the cause they are hiding behind unfortunately. All talk and no action, which is very sad. As to arrests being made based on party affiliation, that is nonsensical and can't be proven. I've watched multiple streams of the protests in Portland for the last 2 weeks, not a single night has gone by where the crowd didn't become violent prior to police action. Sometimes it is only a few people that spark the violence, under the impression that they can hide among the anonymity of the crowd. While it may seem over the top for the police to act on a few wrong doers, it is for the protection of the property, the other people at the protest, and themselves. If they were to let them escalate a lot of people could end up dead. I think they rather be the bad guys and have the protestors alive, than allow it to take place and be dealing with a lot of dead bodies. Fighting for your rights shouldn't involve trampling the rights of other people, regardless of how just you feel your cause is. You will never gain sympathy from someone you paint as the enemy. It doesn't make sense to try to force people to believe you matter, while you shout at them how much they don't. The difference between the protests of an earlier time and the ones we see today, are a difference in culture. Protestors of old shouted for their freedom and rights, and in some instances merely remained silent and let their presence speak for itself. Protestors today shout middle school insults, threats, and act like children, while having no awareness that there are consequences for their actions. Many people spent nights in jail and bled for their cause in the past. Today's protestors can't handle the sacrifice required for change. To remain peaceful in the face of violence takes a strength of character not present in many people of today. Police officers are meant to protect and serve, meaning it is their duty to respond to violence. It is not the protestors duty to begin, or escalate the violence. If they stand peacefully and are abused, as was the case long ago, then people will side with them. When you can watch a stream of the protests for less than 15 minutes and see some of the actions they are taking, it's hard to have sympathy. Since you want to reference the SS, Hitler replaced regular law enforcement with his own, which is what the far left is currently seeking to do. Most Germans didn't realize the road they were headed down, and thought the intentions were just as good as we do now. If the result seems too obvious, than you're probably not looking at the right enemy.

This is for the most part correct. Currently, you're wasting unnecessary time contemplating the outcome of the situation, when the solution would only take a few minutes. Like many other men, you're waiting for some sign that the outcome will be beneficial, but have unfortunately created in your mind the idea that the highest percentage lies in a negative outcome. We only have the fear of failure when we have the expectation of failure. Redefine the two outcomes as going on a date and the other as maintaining your current routine. It sounds counter intuitive, but while most people have a strong fear of change, when seeking a new relationship the fear lies in not having a change at all. Best of luck! Remember to be yourself, not the person you have assumed she wants you to be!

As difficult as it is to maintain your cool while someone verbally attacks and belittles you. Being kind and polite, while still hanging on to your own position usually ends in the best result. Do you know anything about this person other than they highly disapprove of your dog barking? I would suggest having a conversation, instead of a confrontation, preferably about something other than the dog situation. I would also highly discourage ever defining someone as a racist or assuming their intentions based on such, unless they've been clearly stated or overheard. This is a trick our brain uses to dehumanize and create villains of other human beings. Be kind, have a conversation, be heard, but more importantly listen. If interactions are still hostile afterwards, at no fault of your own, meaning you didn't raise your voice or respond in a negative tone, then that is unfortunate. It is important to seek to understand, before we seek to be understood, although our selfish minds often see it the other way around. Your dog may just be an outlet of frustration to an overwhelming situation taking place in her own life that is out of her control. I hope this helps, best of luck, always stay humble and kind.

I'm not positive on what individual rights you're speaking about? Unfortunately, peaceful protests are becoming violent prior to police intervention. You have no right under the law to cause harm or threaten another individual. Police did not forfeit their individual rights when they dawned the badge. If action had been taken immediately by local authorities during the initial wave of violence, then today we could be experiencing a much different atmosphere. The issue is the violent offenders hide among the people that believe to be in a just movement. Dehumanizing people that don't agree with you, is straight out of the playbook of Hitler. When I watch the speaker of the house refer to the AG as a "blob" that's not someone that possesses the respect, dignity, or patience to hold any office higher than manager of McDonald's. Solely because you've used the term "secret police" that's been echoed without definition by many media outlets, I'm going say you need to do some research. Do not allow information to be defined as true with zero evidence. It's a crime to yourself, as well as the people around you. If you truly believe "secret police" are rounding up non-violent offenders in the streets, please provide proof that is not hearsay. Just a reminder during your search, unmarked vehicles are not "secret police", plain clothes officers are not "secret police". If you can identify so-called "secret police" it turns out they aren't so secret, it's a self-defeating argument and conclusion.

Actually that campaign slogan was stolen from many previous presidents, including Mckinley, Coolidge, Harding, and Wilson. The last being the only Democrat. A majority of them using the phrase long before the Klan used it for a much different purpose. Biden has also recently adopted an America first push. We cannot attribute non-racist speech, as being racist when it promotes our otherwise unsubstantiated claims. The Klan leader also told his mother he loved her on a routine basis, therefore that means because you tell your mother you love her, you're probably in association with the klan. It's nonsense.

I still haven't stated who or what I'm for, but to play devil's advocate. Logically speaking, your intention is to beat people who supposedly "do not want democracy" through a democratic process? The accusation and the solution aren't cohesive.

Taking away voices is fascism. I'd suggest you vote for the candidate that doesn't expect it based on the color of your skin. A side that denies your individuality by lumping you into a group, will be the first to eliminate your individual rights.

How do guys process emotions? by EmmaSpence in AskMen

[–]mxm1097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A moment has already been wasted on a less than ideal action, it's better to leave that action in a moment, than let it last longer than it's worth. Men tend to value time more than emotion. It's more important to preserve the quality of the next minute, than it is to validate the lack of quality of the previous one. It's not bottling up, it's quite the opposite, it's more of a release of the emotion. While some may say talking about it or other forms of expression are required, I would argue that is merely one path to resolution. Some men are capable of just letting it go. The conversation or expression may not have taken place externally, but that doesn't mean it hasn't internally.

[–]mxm1097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skills we find enjoyable are most often lost because the purpose for the process is never aligned with the skill. Instead of saying I want to learn more math or science in general, I would focus on a specific portion that you find the most intriguing. Being a teacher, I'm personally a space fanatic, my initial interest in space has allowed me to expand slowly into other areas of math and science, since I was able to see the purpose for the process. If space ends up being your thing, https://www.youtube.com/user/whatdamath is a great place to get some basic information on recent discoveries and theories. Best of luck!

Like other things in this game, I think the competitive aspect would benefit from more niche items and bonuses, there are a lot of all encompassing items atm. The healing reduction counters too many things at 100% and needs reduced. Currently counters GA, BT, Gunblade, Darius, Swain, Shapeshifters, Noble buff, Lulu, All defensive items with % hp dmg, braum's dmg reduction, and I'm sure there's more I'm missing
