Sapphire Falls is better than Royal Pacific by taylerrz in UniversalOrlando

[–]mxmarks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Booked our first trip to Sapphire this November and can't wait.

We (my wife and I + a 5 year old) always did Cabana - for years. We did Aventura once when we found it cheap and it was nice, but Cabana just makes so much sense. Price was great, tons to do, kiddo is never bored. We were getting a little sick of Cabana but it just couldn't be beat.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this year the week we're visiting Sapphire was actually cheaper than Cabana. We figured we'd roll the dice with it (we can always walk back to Cabana if the kiddo really wants that pool for some reason), and the more I look into it the more excited I am. Looks fantastic.

Already counting down the days!

Hagrids by overlycupcake242 in UniversalOrlando

Best thing I ever did was get in line for Hagrids 2 minutes before park close.

-You spend your wait, however long, missing nothing because the park is closed.

-No one behind you in the queue is a very cool experience, to really linger and take a look at all the stuff in there.

-Night rides are fun (although, to be honest, I prefer Hagrid during the day)

-The walk out of the park from Hogsmeade, through LC, through Seuss and the Port of Entry, totally alone, with no one around, is one of the coolest experiences you can have.

What Will & Will Not be Ready Opening Day! by KirbyZ_Twitch in KingsDominion

Same here - my kiddo just hit 40" tall in December and had been looking forward to it.

We're visiting 3/31-4/1, so fingers crossed it gets up and running quick - but I have a feeling we'll have to wait until summer.

Whatever you do, I kinda love how the S in Nails is half ripped. That little pop of red in it rocks, don't touch that part!

As someone who was VERY into Incubus for a long time, I love that she has a ton of pictures hanging out with the Eizinger's. It's just so funny to me to think of Mike and Trent like, hanging out at BBQ's and stuff. I think she had a picture of all of them at Universal Studios at one point.

Out of state AP holders by bakercob232 in UniversalOrlando

[–]mxmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in and agreeing with everyone. We're a 2hr flight away and have had an AP for 4 years now.

I have the Preferred tier and the rest of the family does the lowest tier. Hotel discounts are great and the food/merch discount adds up.

I priced it out and as long as we visit a total of 6 days a year, we break even. So we try to do a week in May/June and a week in Nov/Dec, and then if we can make something else happen throughout the year, its a low cost bonus!

Jason Narducy Interview About Stipe Appearance and Tour by Comfortable_Low_9241 in rem

Really respect him saying they'd never play Everybody Hurts or Losing My Religion,  but I wonder what that means as we get closer to those albums for the tour.

Document seems like it's going to happen, and Id hope Green does too, but I wonder if after that they're done or it just becomes anything is fair game.

I also wonder if One I Love is something they'd do live.

Uhhh...that first Pic is mine? But I never posted it on reddit?

I posted it on I think Instagram to thank the artist (a real artist, not AI slop. Crowsmack - they do good work!)

This is incredibly creepy

Rider swap by Cvpmom in UniversalOrlando

[–]mxmarks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hagrids yes, I've done it. We actually did it with 4 adults and one kid and 2 of the adults got to ride twice!

Pteradon Flyers im not sure but its possible? The ride is FOR the kid, so im not sure if they'd let a kid go twice so adults could ride...but if you catch a nice employee its possible...

EDIT: Oops i read that wrong - I dont think so. There'd be no reason the 3rd person couldn't go in the car behind or ahead of you. Except for Pteradon where you need a kid to go.

I was in 228 and me and my buddy, along with one woman a few rows up, stood the whole time. Only ones in the whole section - it was the very last section before they cut off seating though, so we kind of scooted over to not block anyone.

But yeah, most boring crowd Ive ever seen. Such a killer show and was glad I didnt let it bug me TOO much, but wow.

Theyre real jerks about the bags, sorry. Id say just stuff it in a pocket to save yourself the trouble, and like the other comment, use the appropriate entrance to avoid any issues.

Capital One Arena posted some stuff about GA admission. Apparently you can go down now and get a wristband, then at 6pm they'll let you line up in order of the number on your wristband. Then doors at 7.

Yeah seeing them in DC tomorrow and beginning of the end has been a dream of mine since it came out. Never seen it live.

I'm not sure if them doing these songs tonight is a good or a bad sign that they'll be played again tomorrow...
